Make up your Mind

Asriel and I are back together like nothing ever happened.

Another war is in the works and everyone is really busy.

I'm debating whether or not I should help.

I know I'll do a lot better this time so I want to help.

But what's the point. The humans are way to powerful. They'll just keep winning.

I've fallen into a slight depression because of it.

I went to the barrier to think and be alone.

I hear footsteps coming closer to me.

Asriel comes up next to me. "Hey, I was looking for you."

"I'm here."

"What are you thinking about?"

"Everyone has been down here for so long. I just want everyone to get to the surface."

"So do I. It's not that easy though."

I take Asriel's hand and walk past the barrier.

"How did you do that?!" Asriel asks as we walk onto the surface.

"I still don't know. We did this when we were really young. It didn't go very well."

"The humans killed you, didn't they?"

"They killed you. I killed myself."

"I'm sorry."

"Just don't go running off this time." I say.

The sun starts setting. All the oranges and pinks make for a beautiful sight.

I sit and watch the sunset.

"This is beautiful." Asriel says sitting next to me.

"I want everyone to be able to see this." I say.

We watch as the sun sets and the moon rises.

I put my head on Asriel's shoulder and he puts an arm around me.

I slowly close my eyes and drift to sleep.

The next morning I'm cuddled up next to Asriel on his bed.

"Morning sleepyhead."

I smile.

"You were out like light. I didn't want to wake you up so I carried you back home."

"Sorry."

"No need. I can tell you haven't gotten much sleep."

I get up and spend my day thinking about the upcoming war.

Tomorrow is the day that we are all going to find out we can't take the surface from the humans.

I've lost all hope in our army.

"Wanna come get used to using a knife again?" Asriel asks.

"I don't want to fight."

"Really? I'm surprised. Usually you'd be the one pushing everyone to stay Determined."

I don't say anything.

Asriel sits next to me. "What happened to the Chara that never gave up, who always put up a fight, who was always Determined no matter what?"
