Finding Asriel

Same morning as it has been. Get up, pack up, and start walking.

"Have your sniper on hand. Humans are always scouting these areas." Ethan says taking out his bow.

I take out my sniper and start scanning the woods.

We keep an eye out the entire way to the base.

After minutes of walking in silence I have a thought.

"If you were a part of the other humans army, don't you know magic?"

"No. I was just an archer. They don't teach archers magic."

I start thinking. An arrow is what started all of this mess I'm in.

"Were you the one who shot me?"

He chokes up.

"You shot me!"

"Sshhh! Keep your voice down."

"Why would you shoot me then help me?"

He stops walking. "The other humans make you take this, drug. It's what makes you think like they do. I didn't want to be a zombie like them so I stopped taking it. I didn't want anyone to find out that I stopped taking it so I shot you to make it look believable. I knew you were still alive so I took you in and now I'm helping you."

I don't know what to say.

"Let's just keep going." He says and starts walking again.

We come to the end of the woods. In the plains is a small village.

"That's where we need to go." Ethan says.

"It doesn't look like a base."

"See that house?" He points to the biggest wooden house. "Inside of there is an underground base. We'll need to get in there."

"How are we going to do that? Don't they wear uniforms?"

"We have to take out two of them and put on their clothes."

"You make it sound so easy."

"It is." He walks out into the plains.

"What the hell are you doing?! We're gonna be seen."

"Don't worry. I know what I'm doing."

We sneak into one of the houses and lock the doors.

"What's the plan?" I ask.

"Give me your bag."

I hand him my backpack and he starts rummaging through it.

He pulls out the med kit and pours some kind of chemical onto a cloth.

"I'm gonna go out there and take out two of them. If anything goes sideways, shoot them. Got it?"

"I guess."

He starts unlocking the door.

"Wait!" I call before he opens the door.

He turns to face me.

"Be carful please." I say.

He smiles for the first time and walks out of the house.

I watch as he takes out two humans without any problems.

He takes the humans in the house and hands me a uniform.

"Put this on and be fast about it." He says.

He then takes off his shirt and puts the new one on.

I hate that he looks so good.

"What are you doing?" He asks when he sees me not getting dressed.

"Wha- right here?" I ask.

"Yes right here."

He already has the uniform on.

"Well don't look." I say.

He rolls his eyes and looks the other way.

I slip the cargo pants on and start taking off my shirt.

Out of the corner of my eye I see Ethan looking at me.

I turn towards him and he turns his head away.

I put the shirt on and cross my arms.

Ethan looks at me. "What?"

"You're the worst." I say with a smile.

"What?!"

I start walking towards the door.

We walk out of the house and make our way to the big house.

Once we get inside he locks the door.

He walks over to the book shelf and pulls out one of the books.

He backs up and we watch as a door opens to a staircase.

We look at each other.

"Come on." He says and starts walking down the stairs.

At the bottom of the long staircase is a huge lab with a ton of humans in it.

"Act natural." Ethan whispers to me.

We split up and start looking for something that can help us find Asriel.

I look over at Ethan who is about to push some kind of button. He pushes it and I loud siren starts going off.

Everyone looks around then starts leaving the lab.

After everyone is gone Ethan comes up to me.

"We gotta act fast. I think I know where Asriel might be." Ethan then drags me to a room with a ton of bunk beds.

At the back of the long room Asriel is handcuffed to one of the beds. He's even wearing one of the uniforms.

"Asriel!" I say and run up to him.

I kneel down I'm front of Asriel and hug him.

He hugs me with his one free arm. "Chara! You're alive."

"Of course I am. Oh Azzy, I miss you so much." I kiss him.

"I missed you too. God it's been so long."

"I know." I hug him again. "I'm so happy you're ok. Why did you go after me?"

"I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I didn't try and find you. I snuck out before they put up the barrier so there was no going back."

"I love you so much." I kiss him once again.

"Hate to break this up but I hear someone coming and I don't think you wanna get caught." Ethan says and pulls me off of Asriel.

"Hey! What the hell are you doing?!" I say.

Ethan pushed me inside a small bathroom and locks the door behind him.

"What about Asriel?"

"He'll be fine. He's supposed to be here, we aren't."

I hear heavy footsteps walking to the back of the room.

"Hey goat boy, you know what time it is." Someone says.

Asriel doesn't say anything.

Some more silence then the person starts walking away.

"I'll be back to give you more later." The voice says and walks out of the room.

Ethan opens the door and walks over to Asriel.

"Did you swallow it?" He asks Asriel.

Asriel spits out a pill. "Never have, never will."
