Evelyn
"Are you sure you can't stay for longer, Evie?" Aunt Primrose asked, pleading for me to stay just a few more days longer. The last time I visited was under different circumstances and she was too shocked to process what I had done which led her to practically not acknowledging my presence in the house. However this time it was as if she was making up for all the times I called for her but she didn't respond.
"I'll visit again soon but I have to go back. I promised Rowan I'd be back after a week."
"You're smitten with that boy, aren't you?" Jason asked, cocking his head to the side. I couldn't help but raise the corners of my mouth as a reply to that question. "I'm glad you have someone you can trust."
"Me too."
"Now give me a hug before you go, little one." I wrapped my arms around his waist and squeezed tightly.
"Bye, Jace, Aunt, Uncle."

This week away from Rowan made me come to the realisation that one day I could lose all the little things he does that I adore and cherish. I'd lose the way he caresses my cheek after he kisses me slowly and sometimes passionately. I'd be deprived of his optimistic nature that revolved around me like a persistent breeze. I'd no longer have his presence that was always there whenever I called his name. He knew me better than most people surprisingly. I'd forever yearn for him to call me Angel again.
Most importantly, I'd lose him. I needed him the way I needed to sleep, breathe and eat to survive. He returned the life I once lost ages ago and for the first time in many years I was content. And I loved him for that.
My mind went blank at my last thought. I love him. The consciousness of my feelings for Rowan left me paralysed for a while. I love him. But it was too soon. But it's not. The time I took furiously denying and not acknowledging my growing feelings for Rowan only became fuel for the fire burning inside me.
I love him. I love him. I love him.
Out of the blue I giggled happily at my acceptance and instantly I felt a wave ripple through me, telling me to go and quickly tell Rowan before I lost my excitement and kept whatever I felt for him locked up again. I pushed open the entrance door of the dormitories and dragged my bag behind me. Before I could hastily rush up the stairs I was halted by the sound of my best friend.
"Evie! I missed you," Hayden bellowed at me.
"Missed you too, Den Den," I replied, my recently discovered euphoria tainting my tongue as I spoke.
"'Den Den'?"
"I'm feeling imaginative today."
"Well, you're in a terribly good mood today. What's up?" I couldn't help but grin really widely at the question but Hayden still looked amused whilst confused. "Evie, what're you going to do?"
I told him to come closer with my finger and he leaned in until his ear was in front of my mouth. "I love Rowan." I whispered in his ears, trying my hardest not to laugh at what I was saying. It's crazy how much one person can change you with one look. One touch. One kiss.
The delight in me reflected onto Hayden and he started clapping excitedly.
"And it took you eight months to admit it," he said.
"I only started dating Rowan about a month and a half ago."
"Evie love, we all know that you've wanted to date Rowan since the moment you first met him, and so did Rowan. The two of you are just so damn stubborn that neither of you did anything about it until recently. Now go get your man!" I rolled my eyes at Hayden's explanation and carried on speed-walking up the stairs. The anticipation of seeing his face when I finally told him what he wanted to hear all this time gradually built up and caused butterflies to start bursting out in the pit of my stomach.
