"How was it? Rowan immediately asked as soon as I got out of the examination hall. He swung his arm around my shoulder and proceeded to walk with me. Rowan had completed all his first year medical exams before Psychology exams had even begun, meaning he was bored for many weeks whilst Hayden and I devoted our time to studying.

"It was okay. I learnt about a million case studies and theories and about an eighth of them appeared in the exam," I groaned, leaning into his hold.

"Well, since you look annoyed that all your studying went to waste I'm guessing the questions were easy for you to answer?" Rowan asked, remaining optimistic.

"Sure, let's go with your opinion," I sighed. Right now I wanted to crawl into bed with or without Rowan and just wake up when September starts. Rowan laced his hand with mine and swayed it in a steady motion beside my thigh. The spark that he ignited within me never went away from the moment we started our relationship to now. Every touch from him triggered such passion from the inside - passion that I never knew I was capable of.

As soon as the exam had ended, Hayden dashed out of the exam hall to get his bag ready for a weekend getaway with Mason. Their relationship had progressed from being out of the public eye to open, and I was proud of Hayden's insecurity in his sexuality disappearing. Mason helped him along the way and didn't push him, but nurtured him into being confident himself. Hayden was happy, and that was one of the only things that mattered.

"Did you talk to your dad before the exam?" Rowan asked, finding us a bench to sit down on.

"Yeah, he wished me luck before my final exam."

"He's trying really hard, Angel."

"I know and I appreciate it." I wasn't lying when I said that. I did value Mr Lawson's presence in my life because there was no point in blaming him for vanishing anymore. He left for the safety of Mother and I. He's my dad, whether I like it or not, so I shouldn't ignore him for the rest of my life.

"You haven't called him 'Dad' in the time that you've met him."

"It's hard to accept that man as my father, Rowan. It's hard not to imagine scenarios where he wouldn't have left me and Mum. Would we have been a happy family? After knowing how much the two of them loved each other I bet we would have. He could've fought for the two of us more, but he was a coward."

"Was. He was a coward. If he was still a coward then he wouldn't be making such an effort to stay."

"I hate when you're right," I groaned, leaning back into the seat. The wood dug into my back but I still laid there, not having the energy to change position.

"I love you too," he smirked and rolled his eyes at me. "Have you told your aunt and uncle?"

"I will... sooner or later." He nodded but a sudden mischievous glint appeared in his eyes as he slowly, but surely, collapsed on me. I squealed from under his back but he rested upon my body peacefully, laughing at my pain.

I officially hate Rowan Hastings.

"You're back." I exclaimed in surprise at Avery in the dorm. She turned around from sorting out her drawers with a scowl on her face.

"Don't look so happy, Evelyn," she replied sarcastically.

"Oh, trust me I'm not."

After a moment of silence Avery started smiling weirdly.

"How's your relationship going?" she asked, approaching me from across the room.
