Thank You (Dan Howell)

Dan and Phil are my babies, and this is the first time I've ever written about them. Also the Janoskians are doing their tour meetup thing on Friday in my hometown and I can't afford to go which sucks, but is okay I guess, I hope all have the chance to meet the on tour though. I hope you like the one shot.

Prompt: I have a prompt! I read the 'before you prompt' thing and I saw that you mentioned Phan! So if you don't mind, could you write a story where Dan is sad (you can decide why) but won't tell Phil. Phil notices but doesn't take any action. The next day, Dan seems to be more sad. Phil's had enough of Dan being sad, so he takes Dan out to have a fun day together. He doesn't force Dan to be happy, he encourages him. Dan then opens up to Phil and it's all fluff. :) Just read your stories btw love them

While growing up in Reading, Dan had experienced many bouts of Depression. He was actually diagnosed with clinical depression and had to take medication, then he met Phil.

As clique as it sounded Dan believed that his favorite youtuber, Amazing Phil, had saved his life at least for the five minutes watching Phil's videos he was happy. Becoming internet friends with Phil helped Dan a lot as now he had someone to go to when he needed to. As the two grew closer, Dan's attitude had changed, become more positive and when they meet in real life and moved in together Phil seemed to brighten his world.

Dan and Phil had been roommates for over three years and have been friends for even longer. When the two met Dan had been very young and both had been in University. Because they met so young, Phil had basically watched Dan grow into the person he is today.

They knew everything about each other and nobody could deny that the two were the best of friends. Even though they met online they thought of each other as some of the most important people in the other's lives.

In all the years that they had know each other the two boys have learned the others mannerisms and reactions to most situations so, when Dan started acting strangely Phil knew something was wrong.

"Dan" Phil knocked on the younger boys room. "I made breakfast if you want any"

"No thanks" Dan said, it was muffled as if he had a pillow pressed over his face.

Phil paused debating if he should go it, "You sure"

"Go away Phil" Dan yelled.

"Okay tell me if you need anything" Phil was taken aback, Dan only yelled at him when he was upset about something and it had been years since he acted like this, he'd give Dan his alone time for now, but if his attitude continued he knew he would have to do something.

After a couple of days Phil was sick of Dan being sad, of course he knew that Dan was entitled to his feelings, but if Phil thought he could help he was going to.

Phil got up early the next morning and got everything ready. Firstly he woke up Dan, which was difficult as the boy had no interest in leaving bed, until Phil spit out some bullshit lie about Dan promising to go out and run errands with him weeks ago.

As Dan got ready, Phil packed a backpack with a few jackets and whatever else he thought they'd need for the day before going back to Dan's room to give him his medicine and tell him it was time to leave.

During the entire ride, Dan was on his phone completely ignoring Phil. Phil let this go on until they were a few minutes away from their destination. When he grabbed Dan's phone turning it off along with his and putting them in the bottom of his backpack.

"Phil," Dan paused, "What are you doing"

"No phones today is about me and you and the phones are a distraction," Phil said being as vague as he possibly could.

"Fine" Dan rolled his eyes, he didn't have the mental energy to fight back, he looked out the window in frustration, before something familiar caught his eye making him whip back around to Phil, "Really?" Dan asked his voice was full of excitement.

"Yeah" Phil smiled seeing the way Dan dimples stood out when he laughed and hugged him.

Phil had taken Dan to the film set of Harry Potter, they had talked about going for years but never really got around to going. The entire time they were there, Dan would talk Phil's ear off about the franchise and it almost seemed as though he knew more than the tour guide. At one point Phil had to remind Dan to breathe as he talked. Seeing the amount of passion Dan talked with kept a smile on Phil's face the entire day and their surroundings kept one on Dan's.

As they got to the gift shop Dan hugged Phil from behind, "Thank you" He said, and although the phrase could have been for several reasons, the both knew which one it was directed to.

Phil just smiled he didn't need to be thanked, it was his job to help keep his friends happy, but he turned and hugged Dan regardless.

"Come on, I'll get you whatever you want in the gift shop"
