The One That Got Away

Chapter 39

For the past week it's been hell.

Savannah, Emily, Gabby, Anne, Gemma, Gabbys mom and dad, and Stephanie even came for two days. They all wanted to see how I was doing but I just told them I'm fine.

Niall the boys, except for Harry, have called me a few times too.

"Arianna..." I hear Brooke say from beside me.

"Uh...yeah?" I say

"You have guests. " She tells me.

"Well too bad for them..I don't want to talk. " I sniffle.

"They just want to hang out with you. You've been kind of distant with everyone lately. " Brooke tells me.

"And who are these 'guests'?" I ask

"If you let them in, you will see. " Brooke smiles.

"Tell them they have five minutes. " I tell her and roll over onto my stomach.

"Kay. " She responds and skips out of the room.

Moments later, I hear shuffling and mumbling.

I turn around and see Emily, Savannah, and Stephanie.

I half smile at Stephanie remembering that she's visiting for a week to see how I'm doing and so we can just hang out.

"Hey. " Savannah smiles and sits at the edge of my bed.

"Hi. " I say kind of awkwardly.

"So..we were kind if hoping..." Emily starts and looks at Stephanie.

"We were hoping that we can all hang out..since I'm here for three more days." Stephanie tells me.

"Where? Here?" I ask. "Perfect!"

"No not here Arianna...out. " Savannah looks at me.

"Oh...well then no. " I say and bury my face in my pillow.

"Em. " I hear Savannah say and then shuffling. I hear a door opening and then closing moments later.

"Arianna get up. " I hear Emily say.

"No. "

"Get up "

"No. "

"We will just do it the hard way. " Stephanie sighs.

I hear shuffling again and then I am being lifted.

"Guys put me down!" I yell.

"Then change so we can go out. " Savannah says.

"I'm not going anywhere!" I yell.

"Ok. Your choice. " Emily shrugs and they start walking down the stairs and the door.

"We are leaving with Arianna!" Emily yells and we all go outside.

"Put me down!" I yell again.

"Are you going to change?" Savannah asks.

"Ugh fine!" I yell and they put me down.

I walk inside my house and up to my room to see a pair of shorts, a black crop tank top, and my baiting suit.

I put the clothes on and sigh before taking my phone, keys, wallet and earphones and putting my sandals on before leaving.

"Yay!" Stephanie claps her hands and smiles.

"Yeah yeah. "I roll my eyes. "What up with the baiting suits?"

"Uh Arianna it's summer..its the beach." Emily rolls her eyes.

"Where are there any beaches anyway?" I ask. I really doubt Holmes Chapel has beaches.

"It's about an hour drive. That's why we picked you up early. " Emily smiles.

I sigh before walking to Emily's car and hopping in the back. I take out my phone and earphones, and I start listening to music.

'Demons' by the Imagine Dragons comes on and I block out all sounds.

I hear muffling before screaming, an it's loud. When I say loud, loud.

"Ariannaaaaaa!!!" Emily screams.

"Oh my god what?!" I screech out.

"We want to talk. " She responds.

"About what?" I question.

"Just random stuff...."

"Well I want to listen to music so have fun talking amongst yourselves. " I say and take out my earphones and putting them into my ears again.

I hear Emily sigh before the car goes in complete silence,other than the keyboard of Savannah's phone sounding until I continue the song.

"That was so fun!" I smile walking back to the car.

"Yeah I know! The sunset was so pretty!" Stephanie squeals.

"Yeah. Now it's ending." Savannah pouts.

The car drive is silent, except for the music on the radio and one of us speaking once in a while.

My hair is still wet from the water at the beach and I can say that when we get back home, I'll be freezing.

"Thanks guys..for today. " I smile hopping out of Emily's car.

"No problem. " They all smile at me.

"Ok well bye guys!" I wave and smile at the car as they drive away.

As I'm opening the door, a gust of wind sweeps through and I immediately run into my house.

"Hi how may I help you?" the blonde girl asks me.

"Uh we want to talk to the manager?" I smile.

"Sure..one minute." She tells me and Emily as she goes to the back.

Moments later she comes back out.

"You can go in. " She smiles and gestures to a door in the back of her.

"Thank you. " Emily smiles.

When we walk into the small office, there is an elderly woman with glasses and brown hair seated on a chair behind the wooden desk.

"Hello girls. Take a seat. " She smiles at us.

Once we take a seat she asks us what we need.

"We were kind of looking for a job..." I tell her.

"Well one employee just quit and we need the extra help. " The woman tells us.

"So I think that you girls would be perfect. Just fill out these applications please. " She tells us placing a paper in front of me and Emily.

We fill out the lines and hand her back the paper.

"Ok so I think you girls are all set. You guys start at 4:30 tomorrow and end at 8. " She smiles.

"Ok thank you so much!" Emily smiles at her.

"Your welcome. See you tomorrow!" she smiles waving at us.

I wave back before we exit the office and leave the bakery.

I SKIPPED LIKE TIME A LOT BUT I RLLY WANT TO GET TO THE GOOD AND DRAMATIC PARTS SO IM KIND OF RUSHING.

ILL MAKE EVERYTHING LONGER AND JUST A HEADS UP. THERE WILL B ONE MORE CHAPTER BEFORE A PART. GUESS!
