Josh and I were totally shock to see Kaelie punch Dawn. She must have punched her so hard because Dawn’s lip was bleeding.

Dawn wiped the blood from her mouth. “You bitch.”

Dawn strike Kaelie across the face, but it was real girly the way she did it, like she was afraid to break a nail or something. Her rings scratched the side of Kaelie’s left cheek and blood began to flow out of the cut. Kaelie was about to hit Dawn, but Josh grabbed her around the waist while I stepped in between them.

“Let me go, Josh!” Kaelie tried to break free.

“Forget it, Kaelie,” Josh replied. “She doesn’t deserve it.”

“Dawn, just go and leave me alone,” I told her.

“But I don’t want to go,” she said. “I want to have some fun with you.”

“No, I don’t want to have fun with you, Dawn. Right now Taevy is in hospital and is dying and I –” I stopped myself from saying anything else. Crap. Why did I just tell her about Taevy? Who knows what kind of tricks she has up her sleeve.

A wicked smile spread across her face. I cursed softly to myself for mentioning anything to Dawn.

“Taevy is dying?” she said. I swear it sounded like she wanted to laugh at the thought of her dying? What kind of heartless person is she?

“Yeah so please leave me alone.”

I started to walk away, but I didn’t get far without Dawn following me.

“Come on, Liam. One date won’t hurt. Taevy won’t ever know.”

“Damn it, girl,” I heard Josh say. I turned to face them. He had grabbed Dawn’s arm. “You don’t know how to quit it, do you?”

“Get your hands off me,” Dawn demanded.

“Sure, I will let go but first you need to be taught a lesson.” Josh turned to me. “Liam, can you take Kaelie back to your place? I will meet you there once I finish talking to Dawn.”

“Josh, it’s okay. Let me deal with her.”

“Yeah and she will do who knows what with you. I will deal with her.”

I didn’t argue with him. He had a point I guess. Dawn needed some sense talked into her. I wasn’t sure what he was going to do, but I hope it wouldn’t be anything bad.

Kaelie and I began walking away. I heard Dawn trying to get away from Josh. I was afraid she was going to chase after me, maybe kidnap me, but she didn’t. Hopefully she will leave me alone after Josh talks to her.

“I can’t believe you did that,” I said to Kaelie half way down the street.

“Yeah, I’m surprise too. She got on my nerves so much and I couldn’t stand to watch her flirt with you.”

“Well, I guess it’s about time someone punches her. I just never thought it would be you.”

Kaelie laughed a little. “Yeah.”

“How’s your cheek?”

“Okay, I guess. It hurts.”

“Let me have a look.”

We stop walking and I had a look at her cheek. It wasn’t a deep cut, and it might heal up in a couple of days.

“Is it bad?” Kaelie wanted to know. “I won’t need stitches, would I?”

“No, you won’t need stitches. Come on. I will clean it up once we get home.”

We continued walking. No one was home. Mum had taken Natasha to her dance class and Tristan was still at work. I led Kaelie to the bathroom and made her sit on the toilet. I grabbed a cloth from the sink and wet it. I then kneeled down in front of her and cleaned up the cut.
