I watched Taevy from the distance where she and Kaelie were sitting beside a campfire that someone set up. I wasn’t sure who did it, but I’m sure you weren’t allowed to make a campfire on the beach. Hopefully we won’t get caught. It’s around midnight and no one was around besides crazy high school students who had just finished their school formal. Even by the fire Taevy looked incredibly beautiful as the glowing light glowed on her dark skin. She laughed at something Kaelie had said.

“Hey man, want a beer?” Josh asked as he stood beside me.

I looked up at him, thanking him and took the can. He sat down beside me as I opened up the can, taking a sip. I continued staring at Taevy.

“So what are you and Taevy doing now that school is over?” Josh asked me.

“We are planning to take a road trip up to the Gold Coast,” I answered. “What are you and Kaelie doing?”

Josh shrugged his shoulders, taking a sip of his beer. “I don’t know yet.”

“You should do something special with her. I don’t know what. Maybe you could go on a trip with her like what Taevy and I are doing.”

“Yeah I might do that. I was thinking of doing something with her, but I think it might be a bit too early and I don’t want to do anything that will ruin our relationship.”

At first I wasn’t sure what Josh was talking about, but then I realise what he was talking about.

“If you’re afraid that’s going to happen, then don’t do it, Josh. You and Kaelie are great together and I don’t want to see you guys break up.”

Josh smiled. “Yeah.” He glanced over at Kaelie. “Well, I don’t think Kaelie is ready and I don’t want to force her into anything.”

I followed his gazed, landing my eyes on Taevy. My heart skipped a couple of beats as Taevy glanced my way, flashing me a smile. She blew me a kiss. I blew one back.

“Have you and Taevy ever have sex?” Josh asked me.

I quickly turned to Josh, wondering why he was even asking me that question. “Um, no. We have never done it.”

“You’re kidding me. You guys have been together for like six years and you have never had sex?”

“It has never crossed our minds.”

“Have you ever thought about doing it?”

I started feeling a bit uncomfortable talking to Josh about my relationship with Taevy. Besides, it’s none of his business what we have done. Sure I have thought about it a couple of times and I’m sure Taevy has too, but we have never discussed it yet. Besides, there is nothing wrong with not doing it. When we’re ready we will probably try it. I know my parents believe in that whole “sex before marriage” thing so we may not do it until after we’re married. Not really sure when we will get married, but hopefully in the next few years we will be.

“I have thought about it a couple of times,” I told him. “But I want to make sure Taevy and me are truly ready.”

“Aw, that is so sweet of you dude. You know you two are the only couple in our school that hasn’t even have sex yet.”

I took a sip of my drink. I didn’t believe a word that Josh was saying. “I’m sure we aren’t the only ones. You and Kaelie haven’t.”

“Sure we haven’t. But you and Taevy have been together for so long. How do you guys control your feelings so well?”

I shrugged my shoulders. “I don’t know. We just don’t think about it, I guess.”

“You don’t think about what?” Kaelie asked.
