A Party Prophecy

I woke up to Gerald licking my face.
Yuck.
I held out a hand and shoved him off my bed before Nico blocked my view.
"Rise and darkness. You missed breakfast.", he looked over at Will.
"Just when I thought your rhymes couldn't get any worse.", Will rolled his eyes and leaned against a wall.
I sat up and rubbed my tired eyes, thinking about breaking Athena's vase last night.
"It's lunch time. You know what that means?", Gerald stood up against my torso, wagging his tiny tail.
I ignored him and stood up, grabbing my clothes from yesterday.
"Where are the other campers?", I asked.
"We basically have nothing today but a party at eight.", Nico said, seeming excited for whatever party he was talking about.
Never thought the son of Hades would be excited for it.
"What party?", I asked, grabbing a hair brush and fixing my curly brown hair against a mirror on a wall.
"It's the gods way of saying 'Hurray! You're not dead!' or something like that.", Will explained and Nico shrugged.
"I think they just like to party.", he said, taking my hairbrush and running it through his dark hair. I sighed and looked back at Gerald, who practiced rolling over on my bed.
I suddenly remembered Clare and Nathan. I felt awkward that they didn't wake me up.
"Nathan and Clare left a while ago with the other campers. I guarantee you'll find them around the village.", Will said, almost like he read my mind.
"Thanks.", I replied and shoved myself into the bathroom, taking a shower and getting dressed.
My stomach rumbled as I left the empty cabin, Gerald walking beside me. He was so small, only reaching halfway to my knee on all four legs.
"So I was thinking about getting the Curry chicken wings...", he babbled about what he wanted for lunch, and I remembered I only had so much money to spend.
We walked into the village, immortal people and creatures roaming around in their shops and restaurants. I felt like I was in a normal town for once. Only there were no tall buildings, just normal sized wooden shops all around.
I'm pretty sure I saw McDonald's somewhere.
Demigods roamed around the village, buying souvenirs from the gift shops and ice cream from Dairy Goddess.
I guess that's the Greek Dairy Queen.
My mind trailed off in thought about Typhon. Clare must know more than I, so maybe she could help me with it. After all, she's really one of the only people I trust.
We turned on the corner of the stone path, and my heart sank. Gerald bumped into my leg when I stopped.
Clare and Nathan were sitting outside a beautiful white and red shop, and they were kissing.
I felt my face turn red, and I was embarrassed.
I spun around before anyone noticed. I didn't know why it was a big deal. They're my friends, nothing more.
But somehow, I felt betrayed.
I shook that thought from my mind and walked out of the village, Gerald running after me.
"We missed Buffalo Wild Wings!", he complained. I think he understood what was happening as I walked into the woods nearby. My heart continued to pound and my face was bright red.
I sat against a beautiful elderly tree, feeling childish and foolish.
"I see what's going on.", Gerald wiggled what appeared to be eyebrows.
"Nothing's going on.", I muttered, but I couldn't help it. I couldn't stop blushing.
"You can tell me anything, Terra. I am here by bound to be your guard dog.", he said proudly, and I couldn't help but smile at him.
"Thanks, Gerald. I don't really know why I felt weird...", I trailed off, knowing exactly why I felt betrayed. I refused to believe it though.
"See, there's this emotion, called love...", Gerald began to explain and I rolled my eyes.
"Someone say love?", a familiar voice spoke as a gorgeous woman appeared next to me.
The gods just love me, don't they?
"I really don't need your help, but thanks for the offer.", I told Aphrodite as I stood up, dusting myself off.
"Oh, trust me, you need more help than I can give you.", she said.
Ouch.
She cupped my chin, and I felt my face shift. She pulled her hand away, and pulled out a mirror.
I was lucky enough to look the same. But my blemishes were gone, my face and skin purely clean. I could see a hint of mascara on my eyelashes. I felt almost confident for once with this new look.
Thank gods she didn't give me a full makeover. I hate makeup.
"Why did you do that?", I asked, touching my face as if it was a mask.
"Would you rather me turn you into something else?", she suggested, and I shook my head, scared she'd turn me into a wiener dog like Gerald.
"Now, about your love interest...", she began, and I shook my head.
"No disrespect, but I don't need you to talk to me about love. It's the least of my problems.", I turned around, but she appeared in front of me again.
"Love can be tragic, I admit, but it's something you can not run from.", Aphrodite winked at me, and I felt myself blush again. She disappeared in an instant.
I looked down at Gerald and my stomach growled.
He raised his dog eyebrows hopefully at me, and I clenched my jaw.
"Fine.", I gave into his chicken wing addiction.
