------------
Fire alarms popped my ears as they blasted. I would've thought there was an actual fire, but I knew better than that.
Thanks Nate.
I grabbed Gerald and shoved him into my backpack as he wiggled in my arms.
"It smells in there.", he complained.
Clare rolled her eyes, and in the bathroom light her blonde curly hair glowed like the golden eyes in my dream.
We stepped into a flood of people in the halls, casually walking toward the exits. I caught a glimpse of Mr.Blofis's angry face before Clare pulled me into the sea of people.
"Let's find them and get out of here.", Nathan appeared, and his eyes were unusually red. I ignored it and walked out of the doors, Clare and Nathan following behind.

The lines of students were hard to navigate, so we split up.
I was frantically searching for Annabeth's blonde curls or Percy's dark hair.
"So what actually happened to you?", Gerald asked, moving around aggressively in my backpack.
"I don't know, but I saw what the black figure looked like. He grabbed me...", I held a hand over my chest.
"Did he look familiar?", Gerald's wet nose touched my neck as his head popped out of the bag.
I shrugged, and finally spotted Percy in a crowd of senior students. He and Annabeth were searching around a student line. They knew that this wasn't a fire drill.
Percy's green eyes finally caught mine and he and Annabeth approached me. They looked pissed.
"This is literally the third time I've tried taking the SAT.", he sighed and crossed his arms.
"What do you need?", Annabeth appeared, her stubborn grey eyes and curly blonde hair reminded me of Clare. As she stood next to Percy, they really did seem like a perfect couple.
"We need to find Typhon.", Gerald spoke, and Annabeth raised an eyebrow.
"Don't ask-"
"This isn't the first time we've seen a talking dog.", Percy said.
They really experienced everything, haven't they?
"You can't exactly just find Typhon.", Annabeth explained, her grey eyes going into calculation mode. I wonder why she ever needed to retake the SAT. You could literally feel how smart she was.
"You need to find someone who has a relation with him. Like, a minor god.", she suggested.
"Yeah, that's great, but I don't actually have a minor god on speed dial.", I crossed my arms and saw Clare and Nate from a distance. They approached us quietly.
Annabeth and Percy exchanged looks, then turned back to us.
"There is this one night club downtown...", Percy started, and Clare nudged me with her elbow.
"We're pretty sure Plutus runs it, but I can't guarantee that he has any relation with Typhon; or that you'll even be able to get in.", Annabeth said, and I raised an eyebrow.
Plutus, god of....greed.
"I think I know a way.", I said, and as Nate struck a conversation with Percy, Annabeth pulled me to the side.
"Be careful.", she glanced at Clare, who was teasing Gerald with a half eaten biscuit.
"What do you mean?", I asked, and Annabeth huffed a breath of frustration. I looked over at the boys.
Nate was as tall as Percy, and they looked like two Greek gods arguing with each other about Call of Duty.
"Just watch out. For your friends and for yourself.", she said, but I raised an eyebrow. I really didn't think she'd care if I came back dead or alive.

The nightclub was fairly easy to spot. Even in the evening, there was a long line of strange creatures waiting outside the building. Mortals passed on the sidewalks like the building didn't even exist. A large sign hung near the roof of the building, with large illuminated Greek words.
Τέρας χορού
The long line wasn't promising. Younger and shorter cyclopses stood along with harpies, furies, and other creatures that could probably make chewing gum out of us. I felt eerie and out of place. I'm pretty sure there was a rule on not attacking demigods, otherwise we would've died right then and there.
We walked to the end of the line, and I could feel Clare's hesitation.
"We'll be fine.", I assured her, but her grey eyes were stalking three old ladies coming toward us. They walked to the end of the line, and sewing kits magically appeared in their hands.
Nothing weird about that.
"Who are they?", I asked Clare quietly while Nate listened intensively.
"Terra, they're the Fates."
The way she said Fates made my whole body shiver.
"What's that suppose to mean?", Nate asked, glancing back at the strangely innocent old ladies.
"When they sew, they're sewing together our fate...", Clare hesitated, knowing that they were listening.
Snip.
I glanced at one of the old ladies cutting a string.
That doesn't sound promising.
"When they cut a string...it means someone's going to die.", she wrapped her arms around herself from the cold evening winds as the line moved slowly.
Nate and Clare stood in silence.
"This is exactly why I didn't want to come along.", Gerald sighed.
"I literally told you not to come."
"Not fair. You used reverse psychology.", he shoved himself back into my backpack as we finally approached the huge body guard at the door. I didn't realize how fast the line moved.
The body guard was around seven feet, and under his hat I could see one huge bulging eye.
Please don't eat me.
"Name?", he asked, pulling out a hilariously small notepad.
"We're here to meet someone.", Clare said, and the guard shook his head. He looked like he was resisting with all his will-power not to kill us.
"Next.", his deep voice made Gerald whimper as he waved us off, but I refused to move.
"We need to talk to Plutus.", I told him, and he froze.
I felt a tingling sensation throughout my body as Nate and Clare stared at me.
The guard faltered for a moment.
"Yes, yes of course.", he said and opened the metal door that led into the night club. Glowing dance floor lights of blue, red and purple lit up the sidewalk.
I glanced back at the line and caught a glimpse of the three Fates before stepping inside.
This'll be interesting.

The dance floor was crowded with a variety of things. For instance, the majority could kill us within a minute. The minority was food that Gerald was about to devour.
"This way.", The Guard pulled me through the thick and sweaty crowd. The music was so loud I felt the vibrations.
He led me into the other side of the building. We reached an old and rusted metal door, that eerily creaked when he opened it.
The door opened up to golden steps leading to the upper level of the building.
Golden steps. Plutus knows how to live.
I waved Nate and Clare to follow me, but the Guard held his hand out.
"No guests.", he spoke deeply.
"One guest.", I compromised, and the guard nodded.
Naturally, I chose Clare.
Nathan raised an eyebrow, and I gave a sorry smile.
No offense Nathan, but Clare is a daughter of Athena. She's just good with people and minor gods.
As we climbed the stairs, my bag felt lighter. Gerald must've left for the food table near the dance floor.
We reached the top of the steps, and I had to blink twice to make sure I wasn't hallucinating.
Piles of golden shiny objects lay thrown around in the room, like some type of treasure room. At the far end of the room sat a platinum grey table, polished to perfection.
And Plutus sat behind it.
"Welcome, goddess."
