Nathan
I woke up with a blinding light shining up the infirmary room. My stomach growled and my feet ached, in that moment I forgot everything.
I sat up and gently rubbed my temples.

"Dude, you look high." A shaggy brown-haired teen appeared next to my bed. I squinted to see him better through the bright lights of the room.

He was tall and slender, with pale skin and black eyes. He had a scar over his eyebrow and facial hair growing on his chin. In his right hand he carried a spear. That's when I noticed his bedsheet-like outfit.

"How high do you have to be to wear that." I mumbled, brushing back my brown hair that had grown out long enough to begin curling twice.
I need a haircut.

The teen laughed, showing off his perfectly white teeth.

"Welcome to Camp Jupiter. I'm Dayton." He stuck out his hand and I noticed a black tattoo on his wrist.
S.P.Q.R with two stripes underneath. I shook his hand and jumped out of bed.

The world was moving around me, and I leaned over onto a nightstand to maintain balance.
I forgot I just suicide dived into a portal.

"I'm Nate." I mumbled, then continued. "Camp Jupiter...don't know what that is. I need to find my friends. We came out of this portal together and-"

"Yeah, I was there. Quite a fall you guys took." Dayton said, eyeing the open window on the left side of the room.

Through the window the night was lit up in the distance by torches and street lights.
How long was I out? I need to find my friends.

It was bad enough we lost Clare, I can't lose anyone else either. Especially Terra.

"Your friends should be at dinner. I'll tell you everything you need to know on the way there." Dayton led me outside of the infirmary and into the cool night breeze.

We walked through the town of New Rome, and Dayton explained everything from the Roman Demigod Camp to how they used to have an oracle who killed stuffed animals to tell prophecies.

"You guys are freaks." I said, looking ahead as we walked through the lit up city.

"We aren't freaks, we are Romans." Dayton smiled. He walked with a strange limp, and his dark hair was tossed around by the wind.

"Anyway, I'm a son of Venus. That's Aphrodite's Roman side." He said, and continued walking.

"That's manly." I replied and hit me with the blunt part of his spear.

"Shut up, son of Apollo."

"Okay ma'dam." I couldn't help but laugh, and Dayton cracked a smile.

We finally approached the dining hall. Through the large windows I could see flying plates of food and plenty of Romans dressed in armor and bed-sheet clothing. My stomach growled at the smell.

Terra's in there somewhere.
Before I could walk any closer, Dayton stopped me in my path.

"Lets talk serious, funny boy." He looked at me with seriousness in his dark eyes.
"You came flying out of a portal out of nowhere. If you wanna survive here, you're gonna need someone." He spoke, and he sounded serious.

"What do you mean?" I furrowed my eyebrows.
It's not like the whole camp knows, right?

"Well, no one is suppose to enter the camp unless it's by a tunnel on the south end. You came through a portal. It's kind of a red flag." Dayton warned.
"You need to make sure that you don't mess up anything while you're here. Don't act suspicious and don't start a fight. I'm just trying to help you and your friends."
