Chapter 41

"Lydia! Lydia! Hurry!" Chloe yelled into the bathroom.
I sprinted out.
What if this was the end?
I ran down the hall to Shawn's hospital room.
A nurse walked out of his room.
"He's awake." She said.
I started to cry tears of pure happiness.
I ran into Hayes' chest and squeezed him until he exclaimed with pain.
"He isn't allowed to see you until 4am." She smiled and then walked away.
I totally disregarded what she said and headed towards Shawn's room.
"Shawn?" I knocked on his door.
"Lydia! Don't!" Hayes yelled.

I ignored him and walked inside.
Shawn looked terrible. His face was all burnt and bruised up. He had a sling holding up his left arm. And something around his head.
I don't know what it's for.

"Shawn? Can you hear me?" I asked.
"yeah..." He trailed off. He would look at me for a second and then his eyes would doze off.
"I love you. So so much." I said grabbing his hand and kissing it.
"You're going to get through this, I promise." I whispered in his ear.
Then I walked out before anyone saw me.

I started to cry. I've never seen him in so much pain.
"What? What happened?" Chloe asked worriedly.
"Nothing. He just kept dozing off." I said trying to eat some of my food and coffee.
If I was going to stay up until 4am. I better have some protein and nutrients in my body.
