I watched as Matt debated with himself over the way he had treated me after I had told him about my past. I could see the guilt in his eyes and, in all honesty, I wasn't even upset with the way that he had treated me, because dealing with my used to be friends was way worse than that.
"I- I-," he tried to say before shaking his head and sighing. "I guess I am sorry," he muttered.
I shrugged my shoulder. "I don't blame you," I replied, tossing a fry into my mouth. "I know that you harbored hate for me, but I am glad that you are getting past the hate."
Matt offered me a tight-lipped smile. "I am too," he said. He sighed and shook his head. "What will we do now?"
I shrugged and popped another fry into my mouth. "Eat the amazing food," I replied. "I love these fries."
Matt didn't say a word and looked off into space. His eyes were filled with worry, causing me to roll my eyes. He blinked when I threw a fry at him, hitting him between the eyes.
I couldn't help but bust out laughing at his shocked face. Tears streamed down my face while he watched me with an opened mouth expression. However, I sombered up real quickly when he threw a fry at me, making it go do my dress. I couldn't help but glare at him, causing him to laugh out a full body laugh. A smile pulled at my lips, but I didn't let it show, even though it was difficult. "Oh, it is on," I said, tossing another fry.
And at that moment, we declared war on one another and started to attack each other with food.
