It was a few nights before Halloween, so Jon and Spencer decided that since they had nothing better to do and it was almost Halloween, they'd put on a few horror movies.
In the middle of the first movie, Spencer subtly snuck his hand into the popcorn bowl right as Jon was taking a handful, so their hands touched.
Spencer acted innocent, of course. Jon shook his head and after eating the popcorn he took, reached for Spencer's hand. Spencer attempted to hide his smile, but Jon noticed. He didn't say anything, of course. But it was cute.
Eventually, near the end of the first movie, they run out of popcorn. It was due to Spencer stress-eating it when there were scary parts. If he wasn't eating popcorn by the handful, he was hiding his face in Jon's arm.
"Hey, I'm gonna go make some more popcorn," Spencer mutters to Jon, kissing his temple before he stands up. Jon smiles and nods.
"I'll pause the movie for you, yeah?"
Spencer hummed.
On his way back into the living room, Spencer decided that he was gonna scare his boyfriend, since in the movie it was at a "sit-on-the-edge-of-your-seat" part.
Sneaking quietly behind the couch, the newly popped popcorn sitting on the table near the back of the couch.
He quickly slammed his hands on the back of the couch, emitting a high-pitched screech before leaping over the couch to land next to Jon.
Jon slowly turned his head to look at him.
Spencer stared back expectantly.
Jon started to laugh, and Spencer started to pout.
"I was trying to scare you!"
"Try harder next time, babe," Jon chuckled, wiping the corner of his eye before patting Spencer's shoulder.
Spencer just grumbled.
"Did you make the popcorn?" Jon asked.
"Yeah, yeah, it's sitting on the table behind me."
Jon stands up to retrieve the popcorn.
And, yeah, as Jon turns back to the couch, he extracts his revenge on Spencer...
Holding onto the popcorn with one hand, Jon used the other hand to ruffle Spencer's hair as he yelled, "BOO!"
Spencer screams and flails his arms, effectively knocking the popcorn bowl out of Jon's hand.
"JON! OHMYGOD," Spencer huffs. "Look at what you did!"
Jon snorts. "Me? Uh huh."
"You scared me, which made me knock the popcorn out of your hands!"
"Hand, actually."
"SEE! You should've held it with two hands.."
Jon laughs and shakes his head. "Well, I'll clean this up. You watch the movie."
"No! I'll get scared...since you're not here to let me bury my face in your arm.."
Jon grinned to himself. "Alright, alright, well, hold on a few minutes and I'll be right there."
