It was a rather windy fall day, and Josh and Tyler were walking back to Josh's house after school. Josh was carrying a hot chocolate that he had bought at school (because his school was amazing and served hot chocolate before and after school), occasionally taking sips as he watched Tyler jump on all the fallen leaves littering the ground.
Once at Josh's house, the two had barely sat down when Josh's mum came into the room to inform Josh about raking the leaves.
Tyler slowly turned to him, a grin on his face.
"Tyler, no." Josh warned, causing Tyler's grin to grow wider.
"Aw c'mon! You know it'll be fun! You can rake the leaves, and I can jump in them!"
"Not exactly my definition of a fun time," Josh muttered. "Plus, if you jump in them, they'll scatter everywhere and I'll have to re-rake them..."
"Yeah, but then it'll be more fun because we can rake them again! I'll rake them and then you can jump!" Tyler wasn't gonna let this opportunity go.Josh rolled his eyes but stood up. "Okay, fiiiine, you win."
Tyler cheered loudly ("Yay, thank you Joshie!!!") before standing swiftly up and skipping after Josh.
Tyler sat patiently on the grass, sipping Josh's hot chocolate as he watched Josh rake the leaves. Eventually he got bored, though, and helped Josh by picking up armfuls of leaves and putting them in the pile. It wasn't very efficient, but hey, he was helping....But, then, he was very not helpful when he threw one of the armfuls at Josh, therefore sparking a leaf war.
"Oh, it is so on, Tyler!" Josh laughed, picking up a big pile of leaves in his arms before chasing after his boyfriend.
"Nuh uh!" Tyler called, turning his head around and sticking his tongue out at Josh.
...What Tyler didn't notice right away, however, was the fact that after he looped back around, there was a bench in his path.
He attempted to vault over it, but it was rather last-second and his foot caught on the seat, and he tumbled over it, and into the pile of leaves that was organized rather close to it. He basically landed on his butt and lower back, and goddammit, did it hurt.
"Ohmygosh Ty, are you okay?!" Josh called, dropping his leaves and running over.
Tyler nodded and sat up, sorely rubbing his back. He groaned and flinched, his butt also rather sore.
"We should go inside, I don't want you hurting yourself further," Josh said, holding a hand out to Tyler, which he graciously took. "I'mma find some ice for that."
"Josh, I don't need it, it's fine. You still basically need to rake the leaves, I just won't disorganize the pile by jumping in it."
"It's already in disarray, it's okay." Josh replied. "I'm just worried about you right now. C'mon, I'll make you a real cup of hot chocolate, and we can watch The Nightmare Before Christmas or something."
"Ooh, yay! Alright, sounds like a deal!" Tyler agreed as they walked inside.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
tHIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE MORE AUTUMN-Y AND LIKE, LEAF RAKING AND LEAF PILES AND PRETTY LEAVES BUT IDK????? it seemed more like, comfort-because-Tyler-is-a-child-and-hurt-himself lmao
