Brendon was walking down the hall to his locker, talking to Gerard about the biology test.

"Dude, I swear to God I fucking bombed it," Brendon said, hiking his bag up further on his shoulders.

"I know, I should've studied more," Gerard replied with a sigh. "It brought my grade down a hell of a lot."

"Yeah, same," Brendon nodded, stopping where his locker was and inputting the combo. "But whatever, yknow?" He said easily as his locker swung open. A small piece of paper fell out of his locker and drifted to the ground as he placed a few textbooks in the locker.

"Hey, you dropped something," Gerard stated, picking the paper up.

Brendon arched an eyebrow, "Uh, no..? My backpack isn't unzipped, and my locker is organized..."

"You? Organized? Pfft," Gerard scoffed. "Anyways, I dunno, this fell out of your locker." Gerard handed the paper to Brendon. "Also hey, I gotta go to English, I told Frank I'd save him a seat."

"Alright," Brendon waved as Gerard scuttled off.

Brendon slammed his locker shut and opened the folded piece of paper.

On it, in neat, curved lettering, was:

When I look in your eyes, I just see the sky.

"What...?" Brendon murmured to himself. He shook his head, stuffed the note in his pocket, and headed off to his next class.

He didn't say anything about it to his friends, but the next day he found another note in the same handwriting, saying:

I know its mad but if I go to Hell would you come with me?

Brendon was now really confused and a bit creeped out, so at lunch that day he slipped the topic into the conversation with his friends.

"I found these notes in my locker...." Brendon started.

Frank perked up. "Oooooh, what do they say?"

Brendon pulled them out of his bag and put them on the table for all to see.

Ryan edged closer to the table to get a better look.

"Oooooooh, secret love notes, ay?" Pete noted, grinning.

"Shut it, Pete," Brendon growled. "Now, who do you think wrote them?"

Ryan shrugged.

"Who do you know that looks you in the eyes a lot?" Gerard asked.

"Um..." Brendon started, thinking. "I don't know! Why does that matter?"

"Well that note says 'when I look in your eyes I just see the sky'."

"I know that! I read it!" Brendon replied, slightly miffed.

"Well, what about the other one? Anyone you know religious?" Frank asked, taking a bite out of his sandwich.

"Pfft no," Brendon scoffed. "We're all atheists. And gay as hell."

"Well I don't know then. You'll just have to figure it out yourself. Sorry, dude."

Brendon sighed and thumped his head down on the table as his friends went back to talking about other things.

For a few days Brendon didn't receive any new notes, and it seemed like things were going back to normal at school.

A few days went by without new notes. Nothing was out of place, no one acting unusual. Brendon had no clue who the secret note giver could be. Now he was just waiting for another clue.

....Which he received.

But it wasn't what he expected.

In big, blocky lettering, different to the curly, neat handwriting of the other notes, was:

Could this be love at first sight?

"Hey, uh, Pete..." Brendon started. "So, I've been

"I know its mad but if the world were ending would you kiss me?"

Brendon goes on vacation during school and when its schooltime again there's a note that says "I missed your skin when you were East"

Now, while Ryan is leaving notes in Brendon's locker, Dallon is too. Dallon knows about Ryan.

"Could this be love at first sight?"

"If I can't have you, no one can"

Ryan eventually learns about Dallon leaving letters, and puts a letter that says "I've got more wit, a better kiss, a hotter touch, a better fuck, than any boy you'll ever meet"

Then Dallon gives up and puts "everyone is better than me"

And eventually he receives a letter that says "I don't love you I'm just passing the time"
