The Stupid Book

Reese

"Missy, you are in so much trouble" one of the guards scowls, their grip on my arm tightening. Okay, so I didn't mean to get in trouble... Or caught.

"Let go of me" I hiss. These demon guards weren't the smartest, and didn't seem to realize that bringing me to Lachlan would do no good.

Plus it wasn't like I was doing something horrible. I was just finding some books for the Harrison girls. Alexsandra was dead set on this suicide mission and she had requested I dug out the book that had the spell and stuff. Simon, Sophia and Lucille were definitely against this, but I saw what Allie was trying to do. The other three could suck it up.

The guards grip on my arm tightens and the other one, who hadn't touched me yet grabbed my other one, dragging me along. I gave up with trying to get away and just started walking with them. Lachlan already knew what I was doing, he actually ordered that I helped, so what was he going to do?

The two imbeciles opened the door and pushed me inside. Lachlan sat on the crappy thrown, reading one of those stupid chick flick things.

"Your majesty, there has been an intruder" one of the guards speaks up, I think his name was Paul?

Lachlan looked up, saw me and looked back down at the book, "Idiots! I sent her there!"

The two guards let go of me and pushed me forward. Lachlan was just fed up though, he raised his hand up and snapped his fingers, the two guards vanishing into thin air behind me.

"Have you found the book Alexsandra requested yet?" Lachlan asks, looking up and placing the book down.

"Well I did before those two sons of bitches decided to molest me" I state, brushing my arms off. Lachlan scoffs, getting up and walking over.

"You would think demons would be... Smart"

"I am" I say. Lachlan just ignores me and walks along. I catch up and we walk back to the room. Books were scattered everywhere, seeing as I put up a fight. Some peasants are running around cleaning up. I fix my hair a bit and go over to where I left the book, which was luckily still there.

"So now I'm guessing we go back to the house or whatever and drop this off?" I ask. Lachlan nods and we peace the scene.

Allie

Whoever was furiously knocking on the door needed to chill. Everyone was trying to plan and they weren't making it easy, we were going to ignore it but couldn't. Eventually I went up to answer it.

Reese and Lachlan stood there, a huge ass book in the red head's hands. "Good afternoon, I believe I have something for you"

I hold out my hand and she hands the book over. Lachlan looks down at her with a look that I didn't really get, but it told me that they had chemistry together. I didn't really notice it before, but it was clear now.

"Do you... guys want to come in?"

"No, we must be going. But maybe tomorrow, we want to help as much as we can" Reese says. I nod and close the door. A friendly conversation with two demons wasn't something that you do everyday. It was awkward.

I turned around and my two sisters were stood there. "So?"

"I got the book" I say, holding it out.

"I'll take that" Lucy says, holding her hands out.

"No, it's mine. I have some time anyways. I'll find and rehearse the spell" I say, holding the book tightly and walking out of the kitchen. The overall plan was set anyways, someone could just tell me the extra things they added later.

It was still strange, to think I was planning my death in so much detail, I had never expected to go out this way. But I liked it, maybe this way I'd be remembered as the girl who saved everyone's asses, not the girl who killed Harry.... And Cal... And... Gabriel.

I missed him, but I couldn't let his death get me down, he was a thing of the past. All I was concerned about was the future.

As I walked into my room a hand grabbed my shoulder, I jumped and spun around, going to hit the thing over the head with the book.

Turns out it was Simon. Luckily I didn't actually hit him.

"What do you want?"

"Everyone's going off to do their own thing, I thought I might as well help you" he says. I nod and walk in, plopping the book down on the desk. It made a huge smack and kinda scared me a bit. Stupid book.

"I believe that this spell is somewhere in chapter sixty, but I don't know yet" I say, sitting down on the chair. I opened up the book, coughing due to the dust. This thing was fucking huge.

Simon pulled out another chair and sat down, not really knowing what to do. Luckily, it was chapter sixty that described the stunt. So at least I didn't have to look all that much.

Simon leant over and started reading as well, so we sat in silence. The thing seemed pretty basic. Just a tiny Latin phrase. Though the other details would be harder.

"It says you need two souls to complete this" Simon reads off, "That may be a problem"

Simon

Allie looks up at me with a look that basically said "are you an idiot"

"We have two souls. Me and Harry" she explains. I sigh, I forgot to mention something.

"Allie you aren't a complete soul, remember?" I say. Even I had forgotten about it. The whole half a soul thing was very easy to forget.

"Bullshit, of course I am"

"No you aren't. So maybe you shouldn't do it"

She just rolled her eyes, "I'm fucking doing this. I can get Lachlan to lend me another soul"

"Maybe we can do it together" I say, trying to find something else to make her stop it. She pauses, and then her face shows signs of anger.

"Nope. Not going to happen. I am not letting you near this. I'm not letting anything happen to you" she says. I just roll my eyes.

"I'm not letting you near this. I'll just get a demon to do it"

"Demons don't have souls, jackass" she states, sticking her tongue out. I sigh. I really didn't want her to do this. I didn't want her to die. But I couldn't stop her, she'd always find another way.

I don't say anything and then go back to reading.

"Oh, so apparently I will be sent to hell. Really? No reward or anything. Just straight hell" Allie states. I look up at her. She kept a straight face, but her eyes showed she was terrified. Hell, was big.

"Still want to do this?"

"Yup" she says blankly. I could tell that she wasn't okay though. No one would be. If I learnt I was going to hell then I would be scared out of my mind.

"You know, I can do-"

"You are not doing this. I won't let you" she says. Looking over at me. "Listen. I don't want to go to hell, but I will. I'm happy to do it if it means everyone else I care about will be safe" she says, she puts a reassuring hand on my shoulder and reach up and grab it, bringing it down so we're holding hands. I liked these heart felt moments more then anything, but I hated that I wanted to cry.

I didn't want her to die. I didn't want her to go to hell. I didn't want her to go through any of this.

Okay, so sorry this is such a bad chapter, I was painting all day and I'm covered head to toe in white paint as I write this. I just got home and I've got a bit of a headache, but I need to prove that I can do all this and still write 1300 words... Take that Lucy... If you read this.
