The days sored through the week and anticipation corsing through his veins. The couple sat in the front seat of the car, hand in hand as the male gripped the steering wheel to go the way he requested.

"Tyler, please tell me now. We've been driving for hours, two actually."

It was then the sign broadly announced; Welcome to Indianapolis, Indiana! Enjoy your stay!

Tyler's grin grew wide as he felt eyes drilling holes into his skull just begging for an answer.

"I just thought... We could get our mind off of things... Go sight seeing, eat new foods and Instagram them like those hipster bloggers do. Maybe even... Go to an orphanage..." He slipped in the last sentence pretty quickly as he flicked the notch next to the steering wheel and switched lanes.

Jenna was speechless. You could conclude that by the tears swelling in the corners of her eyes and her hand that quickly slapped against her mouth to hold down her sobs.

"Tyler you don't mean..."

He came across the city as a red light appeared and he stopped.

He nodded "We're going to adopt," he smiled "I figured if we can't reproduce another being, we can ask for one."

At this point, she was racking in sobs and her hand shook uncontrollably. "Tyler.. I.. I don't know what to say"

"Don't force yourself then, I'll speak for you. If you don't mind, I reserved a suite at the Mariott so we might want to unload our bags first before we go to the orphanage."

"We're going today?"

"If that's okay with you.."

She nodded, swallowing the lump in her throat as she pushed a strand of her hair behind her ear. "Y-yeah of course."

He smiled, stroking the top of her hand with the pad of his thumb. He loved her more than anything. It's unexplainable.

She was an emotional wreck. Not even in the history of the world has she cried so much. The child of course. Elizabeth simply refrained from crying. It took everything in her will power to not cry.

"Thank you, Mr. And Mrs. Bilesman, your child is in the next room." The lady known as Mrs. Reina directed them to the next room with a simple gesture. Everyone remembers the middle aged lady by her persona. And the tattoo of a name, Henry, on her left arm. Its still left in wonder to whom that is, but they don't care enough for that.

The two adults entered the play room and stood in awe at the sight. The older teen smiled as the child squeezed the rubber duck. Chuckling here and there she smacked the poor duck against her face.

"O-ouch Mercy" she chuckled. It then occurred to her and she made eye contact to the two adults staring at the duo. She gently tapped on the child and stood. Grabbing hold of her two large suitcases she stumbled. The adult man came to her assurance.

"Here lemme' get that" he smiled kindly and took it from her hands. She let go after a small debate and stepped back.

Elizabeth felt a small hand creep up into her's, it was warm and soft. It was Mercy. She looked down with a smile.

She got down on one knee in front of the child. Mrs. Reina coming around the corner in the corner of her eyes.

"This.. This is it.." She started.

She nodded "I know. I'm going to miss you Li Li"

She smiled at the nickname. Tears appeared at the corners of the child's eyes.

"Hey, hey, hey." She swipped off the tear. "Don't cry. Okay?"

She nodded.

"You have to go. There's so much for you to experience out in the world. Go out and explore, eat those gigantic cookie sandwiches you talk so much about." She made a gesture of a sandwich with her hands.

She giggled. Her eyes forming creases at the corners. She nodded.

"I love you Coca Bean." She cooed, pulling her into a lasting hug.

"I love you too Mystery Bean." Elizabeth chuckled at the new nickname.

But there was so much truth in the name. The girl was the exact definition of mystery. And her story was the leading cause.

She kissed her forehead goodbye for the final time before walking away with her new family.

The mother mouthed a subtle thank you and walked out behind her husband whom slightly struggled with the luggage.

She smiled to herself and suddenly found interest at her feet and she began to feel small. She was truly alone now. Her best friend was gone to pursue a wonderful life and she was left in the ditches. I guess that's okay...

But little did she know, two sets of eyes watched the whole time.
