Garrett hobbled down the hall hating to use crutches. Lani carried his textbooks walking with him to their English class.

"I hate these cursed pieces of shit." He cursed dropping in his chair.

"Mhmmm...poor baby " Lani laughed placing a kiss on his lips. Garrett went to deepen it, teacher then walked in.

"Okay, so this periods being used as a senior meeting, so stop and listen. Garrett, lani, wait til you get in your car."

Garrett leaned back laughing at their new English teacher Mr. Stump. They sat and watched a the video done by the school talking about ordering caps and gowns for graduation and how all students dues need to be paid.

Lani sighed she had one month to bring up her GPA so she could graduate, that stupid AP economics dragging her down. She looked over at a smiling Garrett, he was on the graduating list.

---

Lani helped him get up the stairs to the door of their apartment. Marcus opened the door a frown in his face.

"Michael didn't go to school, I hope you don't mind. He wasn't feeling good." He said carefully "please don't kill me."

Lani laughed "don't worry, its fine."

Garret dropped on the couch groaning. "Babe, when do I get this cast off? And when can I take stop using this brace and crutches? And when do I get my motorcycle back?"

"Soon, and yeah I don't think your getting on that motorcycle again." Lani laughed dropping his stuff on the coffee table then going off to check on Michael.

-----

Garrett sighed taking a seat on the bridge, finally he could breathe. He drooped his crutches next to him. He tolled the cigarette between his fingers before putting it back with the rest.

He rested his head against the railing. Before lightly hitting it against the back. He wanted to cry, he didn't even know why. Before he knew it he was.

He couldn't stop the bawls escaping his lips sounding out into the warm air. His whole body trembled and he pressed the pads of his fingers to his closed eyes.

Everything flooding into his mind. From watching Xavier beat on his sister to the crash, to his dad non-stop messaging and calling.

He lightly rammed his head against the railing again.

"Stop crying you fucking pussy." He whispered to himself only causing him to burst out in tears again. He felt his phone ring in his pocket. Slipping it out he looked at the incoming call

"Hey baby, what up? " he asked trying to hide the trembling if his voice.

"Where are you? I woke in the middle of the night to an empty bed....Garrett are you okay." She asked he could hear her worry.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I just needed to get out. You know me can't stay bound. I'll be home in a little."

He hung up and let his head drop. He didn't want to go back. But he didn't want to leave them behind.
