Quiet day at the beach

When I woke up this morning Harold was already out on the patio laying out in the sun. Just how tan does he want to get anyway? I'm surprised he didn't wake me up to get breakfast. He's usually pretty hungry in the morning and wants to go eat right away. I check on the score of Tyler's game and they won. Team Canada is doing so well and so is Tyler. I am so proud of him. I know that playing for his country in any capacity is such an honor for him. It's great that he's doing so well. It makes me wish that I was able to be there and cheer him on. It feels like we are on different planets.

I take a picture of my kissing the dolphin picture and post it on Instagram. I don't want to post everything all at once so I am good with just posting that for now. I get up out of bed and walk out to the patio where Harold is. "It's about time you woke up. I was just about to go and check for a pulse," he teases as he sits up.

"I really wasn't sleeping that long."

"Ready for breakfast? Or is it lunch time now?" he asks with a huge smile. He loves picking on me.

"Maybe I'll make you sleep on the couch tonight," I retort.

He stands up. "No please don't. Anything but that."

We walk inside and get ourselves ready to go down to the restaurant for breakfast. I check my phone and notice I have a decent amount of likes on my picture already. I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss being on my phone no matter how much I was protesting it. It kinda feels good to be connected with the world again. I put my phone in my pocket, grab my wallet and sunglasses and we head out.

When we get down to the restaurant we get seated at our usual table and order our usual breakfast. The crepes are amazingly delicious and there is no need for me to try anything else they have to offer. I'm in love. Once our food is placed in front of us I take a picture of my perfect crepes and post it to Instagram. Harold laughs. I glare at him. "What?"

He shrugs. "Nothing. It's just that you act like you're above it all but you're just like everyone else, taking pictures of your food."

"I admit it. I missed my phone. That doesn't mean it's a necessity. It just means i missed it."

"It means you're addicted just like the rest of us."

"I'm addicted to these crepes, that's what I'm really addicted to."

He laughs. "One day you will admit that I am always right."

"Today isn't gonna be that day, my friend."

After we eat our breakfast we go back to the room to change for the ocean. The beach is filling up quickly already and we want to make sure we get a good spot to settle in. Harold and I both rush to get our bathing suits on and we grab our things and start our walk to the beach. I loved our spot under the palm tree the last time we had a beach day and even though that spot is taken, there is a spot a little ways down that is just as good. We make our way over to the tree and put our towels down.

"I should have put sunscreen on before I left, now it's just going to wash off," I say as I look up at the sun, squinting.

"You still should put some on," Harold suggests as he pulls the sunscreen bottle out of my bag. He holds it out to me. "Here, put it on."

I start to spread the lotion over my arms and shoulders and go from there. "I need you to get my back." I hand Harold the bottle and turn around. I put my hair up in a messy bun as he rubs the lotion on my back.

"There, all set. I'm going to go right in."

"You're not going to put any on?"

"No need." He starts to walk towards the water. "You coming?"
