A/N
Hey so just a heads up this is going backwards in time and it's going to be New Zealand way back when they first got the house. As I've done with previous histories it will be written in italics.

I had to believe he wouldn't find me here. Wherever here was.

It certainly was beautiful, and the foliage made good cover. Though the animals skitting away was worrisome he was hardly the kind to notice something of that nature. And considering they ran from him as well he may not expect them as I, being only a few centuries now, still did.

I didn't understand what it was that made him snap this time. I had been on my best behaviour and hadn't tried to run for so long that I almost forgot what the sun felt like.

So why did he snap? Why now and not a year ago, a decade ago? It just didn't make much sense.

And now I was padding through a forest with nothing to indicate where exactly I was.

And I could smell him.

Or rather I could smell the fragrance he wears. It smelled like oil and rowan and it was suffocating, getting closer and closer still and I couldn't breathe. I could hear his footsteps moving louder and the heat from his body was radiating, warming the clearing and I knew he had me, he was going to take me back, and there was nothing I could do about it. He would never let me out, he would just keep me locked away until-

He stopped, but there was still movement. High up in the trees and I realized, someone or something was tracking him as he was tracking me.

Although I doubt it was for the same reason, because no one could capture him, no one could torture him, and he loved no one so nobody could torture them, no matter how much that last one hurt to think.

He was far too big to have been starved and far too strong to fear being beat. So no it wasn't the same, but he was afraid non the less and that made me even more frightened.

And then, just as suddenly as it had started the movement ceased above our heads. Because now the cause was in front of us. And it smelled like werewolf.

Not a word escaped the mouth of the beautiful creature standing in front of me and yet, she had The Waven trembling where he stood.

"What are you doing here? This doesn't concern you shifter, step out of the way."

She didn't move, and it was clear she wasn't going anywhere, without her ever saying a word.

Why didn't she seem to care for his presence? Even from where I was standing I couldn't help but shiver at the sound of his voice. And yet this woman, this shifter, was standing tall and unaffected.

There was nothing to indicate a change, and yet suddenly he stiffened.

His eyes roamed slowly over the forest, settling straight on me, though they stayed unfocused and so I assume he hadn't yet spotted me.

"You will be mine again Nikolas. The shifter won't protect you forever." And with that he turned and left.

I didn't understand, why did he leave? She hadn't said anything, couldn't have threatened him, so what?

I looked up to see her standing less than a foot away.

Oh god, if she scared The Waven then who knows what she is capable of doing to me? I could feel my pulse begin to race, staring up at this creature as she stared down at me in kind.
