Anthony's POV

I've looked everywhere I could think of.

Where the fuck was he? Where the fuck was Nik.

God she shouldn't've done that. What the fuck was she thinking, taking his city from him.

He's worked hard to make this place what it is. Shit, we both have.

And now the idiots gone and dragged her who the fuck knows where, and I don't know where to find him.

I tried calling his cell one more time before trying to track her scent.

"Nik I swear to god you better tell me where you are you piece of utter shit. If you hurt her, I'm gonna kill you.

No actually I'm gonna lock you away until you come back to your senses, and then you're gonna kill you."

"Nik why the fuck do I smell blood with her scent? Oh you better pray to every fucking deity you can think of that she's alive.

Know why? Not because I'll be upset, oh no, I don't give a shit about that annoying little bitch.

But because you will be. You'll be so fucking sad and angry that you'll become an annoying bitch too. And I won't stand for it.

Nope, I'm not gonna let this one go Nik. I'm not gonna just let you turn into some moping fucking loser over someone who very clearly doesn't care about you. We need you, okay? We care.

I care.

So stop doing whatever the fuck it is you're doing to her and fucking get back here. Please?

Nik I'm begging you, don't do something you're going to regret! Just come home and leave it as it is." Sighing, I finally hung up and began scent searching.

The only problem was her scent, she smelt like blood and I was starving so that was really all I could smell.

And Nik was so goddamn old that he didn't have a scent, the only way he would is if it was artificial. And the guy doesn't really go for that kinda stuff.

I managed to track the blood until I got to the next city over, but this place was filled with the smell of blood and it got difficult to tell what was hers and what was someone else's.

And that's when I smelt it.

This practically toxic cologne that just drowned out my senses until I couldn't smell and my eyes wouldn't focus.

And nothing underneath.

No underlying scent, which didn't make much sense because there weren't supposed to be any other vampires that old in this country. Which meant it could only be Nik.

I rushed forward following the smell as it grew stronger. And suddenly it was mixed with sweat.

I had to hurry, Nik never sweats, not unless he's really beating the shit out of someone. And if he hurts her too bad he's gonna hate himself for it.

When I got to the building the smell was coming from I stopped breathing for a minute. It was way worse than I thought it was. Lining the ground on either side were bodies, dozens of them. Some just had their throats slit while others, they were torn apart.

You could actually see the marks his blunt nails left on their bodies.

How hard he must have dug them in and how many times he had to have went over until they even made a dent.

Blood was spattered everywhere, bodies ripped apart and people completely untouched, standing around their dead. There wasn't a path anywhere, and to anyone who didn't know Nik it would look random.
