One day I'm getting ready to go shopping with Kana for school stuff. I walk to his room and knock on the door. "Come in.." He says. I open the door and he's wearing a red shirt, leggings and black/purple lipstick. "Kana..?" I ask. "Mom....I'm trans..." Kana says. "What?" I ask. "Male to female...." Kana says. "Mom.. I'm a girl.." She says. I nod. "Come with me." I say. We walk to me and Jared's room and I open my closet to find my high school outfits I kept just in case. I hand Kana a sleeveless black dress with some white flowers on it. She smiles and hugs me and runs to change. We then go shopping and find some cute shirts, dresses, leggings, and some bras to stuff.
We buy the stuff and Kana wants to put the bra on so I let her and she stuff some new socks in it. We get home and open the door. Jared looks at Kana confused. Kana looks at me. "I'll talk to him." I say and she nods. She goes up to her room. "What happened to Kana? Is he okay?"'Jared asks. "She's fine." I say. "She?" He asks. "Kana is transgender." I say. "Oh..okay." He says. We call the school to change the gender on the form we sent in and they won't accept it. Kana walks downstairs. "I'm sorry sweetie...The school won't let us change your gender on the form..You'll just have to correct people when they call you the wrong gender..." I say. I look down and see blood staining her pants in an area. "Kana....what did you do...don't tell me you tried to cut it off!!" I say crying. "I'm sorry mom.....I just...I don't want it..." She says.
