Chapter 30
Everyone’s face went pale.
“How? She seems so happy all the time!” Kiba said.
“Yeah, she seems like she’s so carefree. What a drag, when was the last time she visited the hospital?” Shikamaru asked.
“If my information is correct, it was yesterday.” He said.
Everyone’s eyes widened.
“What for?” Sasuke asked concerned.
‘Ew…he’s actually worried about me…’ I thought disgusted.
“Apparently, paralysis caused by starvation.” Kabuto said.
‘Stop…stop…!’ I thought stressing out.
‘Ow! Miyuki, that hurts…’ Hinata said clutching her head.
‘I’m sorry…I’m going to leave in a bit, hold on just a little bit longer.’ I said. My time limit to being in someone’s mind was coming to an end.
“And that’s it really…” He said.
‘Thank God.’ I sighed.
He finally got to the point of his speech.
“Well, you get the point. The competition’s going to be intense this year.” He said.
“So it would seem. It’s almost enough to make you lose your confidence.” Hinata said.
“It’s a fine time to start talking like that!” Ino stated.
“Do you really think it’s going to be tougher this time?” Sakura asked.
“Oh yeah. In the four years I’ve been coming, I’ve never seen a crop of candidates with this much potential as this bunch.” Kabuto said.
Naruto grunted.
“Yup. We’ve got our work cut out for us.” Kabuto said.
Naruto started to tremble.
‘And…I take that as my cue to leave. Love you Hinata, thanks for letting me hang out in your subconscious. Good luck!’ I said and released the jutsu.
‘Bye!’ She said and the rest of my mind slammed back into my body.
“Damn…” I muttered as I clutched my head.
“Are you okay?” Gaara asked.
“Yeah just a bit of a headache, nothing to worry about.” I said smiling back at him. If only it were just that…now all of the Konoha rookies now of my past.
I all of a sudden heard a yell.
“Aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!” Everyone turned to see none other than that idiot Naruto. “My name is Naruto Uzumaki…and I’m gonna beat every one of ya! Believe it!” He shouted.
“What a moron…” I muttered. My team just nodded in agreement.
“Hey! What’s that idiot trying to do? Get us killed?!” Ino shouted at Sakura. “Tell your boyfriend to keep his big fat trap shut!” Ino shouted.
“Who’s boyfriend?!” Sakura screamed back.
“Oh yeah, I forgot, YOU CAN’T GET ONE!” Ino shouted.
“What’d you say?!” Sakura screamed.
I held back a laugh. This girl and I could get along very well.
I smirked but Gaara’s face went back to the expressionless façade he usually shows.
“That’s the same kid as before isn’t it?” Kankuro asked. I nodded.
“He yips just like a little dog.” Temari said.
I could see everyone glare at him.
‘This kid’s a moron.’ I thought. Then Sakura ran up to him and held him in a choke-hold, trying to clean up the mess Naruto just created.
“Oh poor thing, she’s only making it worse with that annoying voice of hers.” I stated.
Kankuro was about to take off Crow, but Gaara cut him off. I could see three ninja rushing up to them.
Next thing I knew, one threw kunai at Kabuto. Another one appeared in front of him and raised his arm up to punch him. He threw his attack at him but Kabuto dodged his attack, causing it to miss.
Kabuto smirked, but then his glasses shattered. The pieces fell onto the floor and Kabuto held onto the frame of his glasses.
“I get it. So it was that kind of attack.” He said removing his glasses.
Sasuke and Shikamaru said something but I was distracted because all of a sudden Kabuto suffered a severe qualm and vomited violently. I looked away knowing that pain all too well. I looked back but I was confused.
The ninja that attacked him revealed themselves to be ninja from the hidden sound village. However, I was still confused on the attack. It didn’t hit him but-
“All right, you baby-faced degenerates! PIPE DOWN AND LISTEN UP!” I heard a loud voice shout above the crowd. I turned to the front of the room and saw a huge puff of smoke clearing.
A tall shinobi from the leaf village wearing a black trench coat stood in front of a crowd of other shinobi with his hand in a hand-sign.
“It’s time to begin. I’m Ibiki Morino, your proctor…and from this moment, your worst enemy…” He stated.
“Finally.” I smirked.
Let the games begin.
