CHAPTER THIRTY - WHAT AM I?
Melanie’s POV
Still tied to the bed, I screamed out in pain and pulled at my chains. Ever since Zack had injected me with that green looking liquid, my whole body felt like it been set on fire. I could feel my organs tearing at the inside of me. A thirst I’ve never known invading me.
“My dear,…” Zack said entering my room and coming to sit on a chair beside my bed. “How are you feeling?” he asked amused.
“What the hell have you done to me?” I asked hissing at him, trying to hold back my pain.
“I’ve told you. I turned you.” he answered a bit exasperated.
“Turn me to what? What the hell am I?” I asked, trashing on the bed, trying to stay focus on him as I began to feel disoriented.
For the past couple of days, it been like this. One moment I was awake and in great pain, and then the other I would be hallucinating on different things.
“A NO FANGER.”
“What am I?” I asked between clench teeth. “What the fuck is a No Fanger?”
“A No Fanger is a modified version of the Immortals…”Zack began as if he was giving out a lesson. “Where as Immortals don’t age, don’t get sick and don’t die, No Fanger do. No Fangers have the same strength and the same abilities an Immortals has. Well, most to be exact. No Fangers don’t have the ability to walk in daylight, or the ability to eat solid foods…. You remember what Michael did?” he asked, clearly referring himself to the incident with the old man.
And as I nodded a yes, he continued. “Unlike immortals you don’t have fangs, making your appearance that of a normal human but feeding a bit complicated.”
No matter how hard I fought, I drifted to oblivion. I had so many questions to ask him.

Opening my eyes, I was relieved to find I was no longer in pain. All calmness leaving me as I realized I was in the same room Michael had once been.
Suddenly a hunger I wasn’t expecting hit me, making me curl into a tight ball on the ground. Gripping onto my stomach hard, wanting the feeling to go away.
Hearing a door suddenly being pulled open, I let go of my stomach as I slowly stood from the ground. Inside the room, there was now a young, frightened, teenage girl.
Knowing what was to happen, I walked to the other end of the room, ordering her to stay away, as the smell of fresh blood hit my nose, making my stomach growl.
“Time to feed.” Zack supplied thru a loudspeaker.
The next thing I know, I was dragging myself to the young woman.
“Please stay away.” the girl pleaded, sobbing, walking away from me.
“I can’t.” I confessed, standing in front of her. “I’m sorry.” I said, taking her by the arm.
