Leaving Melanie back home, knowing how tense she was, was probably the hardest thing I had ever done. I had involved her in all this mess and now, for the second time, I had left her to fend for herself.
Pushing her to the back of my mind, I entered the council meeting. This one was being held on neutral grounds. Dagan‘s place.
And as I slowly made my way to where Dagan sat, I could feel the eyes of the other Immortals burning at the back of me. This wasn’t going to be pleasant at all.
