"Jody, come here." I said to her.
"What is it?" She asked once I pulled her away from Bobby.
"I'll do it."
"Do what?"
"I'm going to use my cute little southern charm on Johnny."
"Uh, why now?"
"She wants to mess around with me, I'll show her who to mess with." I smiled.
Jody smiled at me widely and jumped up and down.
"This is going to be so fun!" She exclaimed.
"What is?" Johnny asked from behind me.
"Nothing." I laughed.
Johnny handed me my drink and then took a sip of his own.
I was going to show JoAnna what my southern charm was all about. A little while later Josh came back with his drink. I just stood there talking to Johnny like I didn't see him.
"Sorry it took so long." Josh told me.
"Yeah, it's fine. I seen you with the chick. Johnny and I are going over to the lake, I'll catch up with you in a bit."
I just had to get away from him. I couldn't take seeing another girl on him.
"Uh, yeah. Okay." Josh replied.
"Come on, Johnny." I said while grabbing his arm.
At the lake:
"So, now you want to be around me?"
"Why not?"
"Maybe because I can tell that you don't really like me."
"It's not that I don't like you, it's just it's weird seeing someone that looks just like my best friend."
"Well, I'm not like your best friend if that makes things better."
"What are you talking about?"
"I would be able to tell if you liked me and I wouldn't go around with other girls."
"He's not like that."
"So you do like him." He laughed.
"Shut up, I do not." I laughed.
The party was right up from the lake so we could see what everyone was doing. We just sat there laughing at all the drunk people stumbling around. Johnny nudged my arm and nodded his head to where he wanted me to look. There stood Josh watching us as he talked to one of the guys from school.
"I think he also likes you."
"That's nice but I don't like him."
"Okay, if you don't like him then kiss me."
"Why?"
"To prove to me that you don't like him."
"I don't have to prove anything to you."
"Fine, you like him." Johnny laughed then turned to walk away.
I couldn't risk letting anyone know how I felt about Josh so I did what I thought I should. I grabbed his arm and pulled him to me.
"This is nothing to me, okay?" He nodded.
Then I kissed him quickly but before I could pull away he acted faster. He tangled his hands up in my hair and deepened the kiss. I pulled away a few seconds later out of breath.
