Needless to say we had the wedding planned in under a month. It was going to be held at my house in the field where most of our adventures were. Johnny was going to be Josh’s best man and JoAnna was going to be my Maid of Honor. Johnny was so happy to see his brother happy, he hugged him when Josh told him he wanted him to be the best man.
Some may say we were getting married too young and too fast but we knew better than that. We both knew that we were going to love each other for the rest of our lives, married or not. Momma and Daddy were so happy to hear that we were getting married, even though they knew about the whole thing all along.
Our wedding was camouflage themed like Josh had talked about, which I was fine with. My dress was white, with a camouflage trim around it, it was beautiful. JoAnna had a blaze orange dress on and Johnny had blue jeans on with a blaze orange button up shirt.
“You ready?” Daddy asked me as we were about to walk down the field to Josh.
“More than ever.” I smiled.
“You look beautiful.”
When I got eyes on Josh, he looked more amazing than ever. He was standing there smiling with a white button up shirt with a camouflage tie on with his faded blue jeans and boots. I couldn’t wait to be able to call him my husband, looks and all.
“You look amazing.” Josh smiled at me when I reached him.
“You don’t look too bad yourself.”

After the wedding we had the reception in the field as well. Josh hadn’t took his arm from around me since we said our vows. I think he was even happier than I was. We stood side-by-side as everyone took pictures of us.
“I’d like to say something about the newly-weds!” Johnny called over the crowd as we were about to eat. “I’d like to say, I’m so happy for you two. It may hurt like a bitch to see the girl I had fallen head over heels for but I’m glad you found someone who makes you happy. Brother, I know we’ve had some rough patches with our fights and disagreements but no matter what I’m here for ya! Everyone needs to know that I hold nothing against either of you for getting married! Everyone raise your glasses to all the memories that are going to be made for these two!” Johnny smiled at us.
“I want to say something as well.” Thomas told everyone. “You two have been close to each other since I started hanging out with you, Josh. I knew there was going to be something there but I never thought I’d see my baby sister married to you. I thought that you’d break her heart and she’d say the hell with you, but I never heard those words come out of her mouth. I’m proud to call you my brother-in-law, just take care of my little sister. Tara, where do I even start? You…you are beautiful. I’m so glad you found someone like Josh to be with. Through all the rough patches you two had, you always made it through it and that’s what marriage is all about. So, here’s to y’all.” Thomas said while raising his mason jar and taking a swig out of it.
“Before everyone eats, I’d like to stop youu all for a second more.” JoAnna laughed while standing up. “Damn, I never thought I’d be at this wedding. I was the biggest bitch to you when I first moved here when Johnny was trying to be your friend. I don’t know what it was about you that I didn’t want to see my brother with, I guess I knew that you would make him happy and I was scared that you would take it all away from him once you got tired of him. I completely judged that wrong, you didn’t want to hurt anyone, you never got tired of making Josh happy and hell you still try to make things better with you and Johnny. You’re my best friend now and I’m so happy that you let all of what I did go. So, here’s to Taralyn’s small town southern charm!” She laughed.
Josh laughed and kissed my cheek after she finished.
Yep, it was my small town southern charm all along.
