Sam's POV:

"Will you be my girl, like, officially?"

She just stared at me for a moment, scaring the living shit out of me. I knew what was next. Rejection. But then, her lips curves into a smile.

"I thought you'd never ask." She said, chuckling a little.

I took her face in my hands and kissed her passionately.

I rolled so that I was on top of her, moving one hand so that it rested on her hip, the other remaining on her cheek as her hands went to the back of my head, fingers sliding into my hair. I love when she does that.

We pulled apart and just stared into each other's eyes.

"Did you come to Omaha just for me?" She whispered.

"Mostly, yes. Also, I figured I could visit my family as well. I was missing them too."

"Thank God." She sighed, "I would've felt bad if you came here solely for me."

I started kissing all over her cheeks until we heard a soft knock on the bedroom door and Savannah's voice behind it. "Aunt Lo?" Her voice cracked, evident that she was crying.

"Come in sweetheart." Logan said as we both sat up.

She walked in, instantly running to the bed, climbing up and slinging her arms around Logan.

"I had a scary dream." Savannah cried into her shoulder.

"Shh, it's okay, you can stay here with me okay? I'll go get your blanket." Logan tried to calm her then, handed her to me.

I sat Savannah on my lap, facing me and gently wiped her tears from her cheeks. I pushed her hair from her face as she rubbed her puffy red eyes.

"It's okay, Sav. I'm here and nothing scary can get you." I said, kissing her forehead.

"Promise?" She asked, sticking her pinky out and sniffling.

"Pinky promise." I nodded, wrapping my pinky around her tiny one.

"Will you protect Aunt Lo too? She's scared of those noises the sky makes when it rains and the lights." She whispered, very quietly.

"I pinky promise." I smiled.

"Good, because it makes me sad when she's sad. I don't like when she cries." That had to be honestly one of the sweetest things come from a kid ever.

"I don't like when she cries either." I agreed.

"Do you and Aunt Lo kiss like my daddy and mommy used to?" She asked suddenly. It made my heart shatter into a million tiny pieces.

I chuckled, nevertheless, and nodded, "sometimes we do."

"Does that mean you're gonna be my Uncle Sammy?" She asked, sniffling.

"Maybe one day, sweetheart." I smiled just as Logan came back in with a blanket and sippy cup.

"Here you go, Sav." Logan smiled, handing the items to her.

Savannah lied back down, drinking from the cup as she twirled a piece of her own hair.

I heard the door open and shut so, knowing the situation of this neighborhood, I went to check and make sure it was Rocco and not someone else.

I walked down the small hallway and looked into the living room, where Rocco stood, taking off his jacket and hanging it back up on a hook.

"You're still here?" He asked without even looking at me.

"Yeah, I just wanted to stay until you got back, just to make sure the girls were okay." I said, he nodded.

"Listen, I don't know what you want from my sister but, if you ever hurt her, I'll kill you. I mean it." He said sternly. I'd usually expect to hear something like that from a girl's father but, instead I've heard it from Rocco, Skate, Swazz, and the guys that were outside earlier.

"I would never think of hurting her and believe me when I say my intentions with her are pure." I said honestly and he nodded.

"You're a good kid." He sighed, "do me a favor?"

"Yeah, sure."

"Get her out of here. Get her out of Omaha. She deserves a hell of a lot more than living in this shitty trailer, in this shitty neighborhood. Nate and John have tried and tried but, she won't leave me and Savannah. I just need you to get her the hell out of here." He said, taking a beer from the fridge and sitting in the recliner.

"I'll try everything I can, sir." I agreed, nodding my head.

"Good." He took a sip from the can, "Also, you can just call me Rocco."

I nodded, but before I could say anything else, Logan came into the living room.

"Savannah's finally asleep." She sighed.

"I think I'm gonna head out now." I said, she nodded.

"I'll walk you out." She said, sliding a pair of flip flops on.

"Nice to meet you, Sammy." Rocco called.

"You too, Rocco." I nodded before Logan and I walked out of the door.

We walked to my car and I pulled her into my arms.

"I'll text you later. My parents are like dying to meet you so, if you're comfortable with that, maybe we can do that?" I suggested.

"Sounds wonderful." She smiled up at me.

I took the opportunity and kissed her. The kiss didn't last more than twenty seconds but, every kiss feels like our first. I fall harder and harder for her with each one. Our lips mold perfectly together, it's like God created us for each other.

I kissed her forehead before I got into the car, putting it into gear. I waited for her to get back inside.

As I made my drive home, I thought about what Rocco had said. How he wanted me to get her out of here. I want to get her out of here as well but, the question is, how in the hell am I going to convince her to leave her family behind?
