"Well here you can have this," He said while pulling something out of his pocket again.
It was a pendant. The pendant. The same circle with a beautiful design set in it. It wasn't tied to a string... but it was a silver chain instead.
It has to be the same pendant right?
I mean it just has to.
I didn't know how to react.
I just stuttered my way in the first words that came out, "How did you get that?"
"Look I know what your thinking..." His steps moved closer.
No he didn't... did he???
"You went into my house?" I questioned unsure. My voice was raised high. I was scared... of him.
Out of fright I stepped more back hoping he would just leave. My feet touch the end of the balcony and then the worst happened. I tried grabbing the rail for support, but my body failed to see the connection. My arms flew up as a reflex as my dress slid across the railing. I could fell the air under my back. I felt no support underneath me. Just a fall. My mind was contrasting of what was happening, but my screams interrupted the process.
"Carolyn!" I heard him... I did hear Beck. I heard Beck and the wolves.
Shadow....
This is the end.. right? I asked myself as I kept tipping. I asked like I was God. Like I was the one who chose this.
But then strong arms came around my waist. My eyes closed so I could see who it was. The touch though made me sure it was him to save me. Was this the 'not safe' he was talking about?
Beck pulled me back over the edge on the patio. He aimed me in the corner of it. My eyes still closed, but I felt him slouch next to me. I heard his heavy breathing over mine.
"Carolyn..." He whispered. My eyes gradually opened to the sound of my name.
"Are you looking for a death wish?" He loudly raised his voice. He was facing me now and he looked sweaty, angry, and confused. My big blue eyes stared at him with a 'sorry' in them.
He sighed in defeat and sat down," Here.." His hand took my hand and dropped something in it. I opened my hand up to see the pendant.
" I didn't take it from your home. I don't know who gave you the original one, but it still wasn't me. Your still in danger."
Oh.
"This one I made.. Its the real one. I think you should have a necklace like I said before in class. So please take it." His head faced down as he relaxed.
"I believe you..." His face looked up at me. He looked at me like what I said was special to him.
"Can you put it on me," I grinned.
"Yeah!" He smiled and took the pendant. I turned around lifting my hair up. I didn't notice but my pony came undone. I felt his fingers graze upon my neck so softly and delicate. I hear a click and I though he would move away, but he didn't. His breath lingered on my skin making my hairs stand straight up.
" I love you hair down," his husky voice tingled in my ear. Goose bumps sprouted all over my nervous body. I flushed my cheeks. My breathing steadied, but I felt like I was going to swallow my heart.
His fingers left go and the pendant fell on my chest. The silver chain was cold to the touch. I grabbed the design immediately feeling now that this was the right pendant. This is right. This is feeling wanted. I was smiling and blushing to my heart's content. I turned to show Beck how it looked on me.
He was standing up, looking tense. :is back was toward me. He looked worried; scared. I tilted my head to the side seeing what was up. A man that was tall, but Beck was taller. He had a scruff, maybe in his forties. I couldn't see his eyes either as his messy dirty brown hair covered them. He looked right at Beck and stood like he was ready to fight. Beck was still in a defense position.
"What are you doing here?" Beck growled.
"I could ask you the same. You disobeyed me. I told you to stay away," the other man said.
"How will that work? Will that really protect her? What if it doesn't, huh? He wants her now and its all my fault..." Beck screamed at him. I looked between both of them.
Who were they talking about? A feeling of jealousy came over me.
Just as the other guy was about to argue I stand up. My hair fell down and gushed through the breeze.
"What is going on, Who is this?" I said walking toward Beck's side. The guy looked at me with a stubborn, angry look. Beck tilted his head downwards to me.
Beck's mouth opened," My Uncle..."
The man rolled his eyes and ignored that I was still here.
" Let's go Beck now!" His angered tone busted shivers through me. The man walked close to Beck and grabbed him by the collar of his v-neck.
The man dragged Beck away. Beck didn't put up a fight. His body just left through the blinded doors. The wind blew only me now as the night was alone. I stood silently dazed.
Uncle?
