Chapter 13:Not worth it

Victoria pov
Eventually, I found myself inside the hockey turf, where all the 'popular' junior girls were taking selfies & other pictures of each other, just so that they can remind everyone on social media how they have more 'better & prettier' friends than others. I sat up against the white brick wall, hugging my knees.

'They were hugging...I thought that Nami was over Sanji? What does this mean? Does this mean that Nami is back together with Sanji? If so...then I've got to be supportive of them.'

Then, I heard Mr Le Roux call out via speaker phone.

"Can all the seniors that are participating in the house relay, please meet Mr Brook out by the common room to see where you are on the track."

In the background, I could head those junior girls chattering.

"Hey, we should go & watch it." One girl in a red dress said.
"Hmmm..yeah! I wonder of there are any good looking guys running?" One in a yellow hippy costume agreed.
"There's bound to be some there! Come on lets go!"

They raced out, with me walking behind them. I met up with the other runners at the senior common rooms. There was four runners per house:two girls & two boys. I found that I was versing:

Green/East house:
Zoro, Luffy, Nami & Nojiko

Yellow/ West house:
Egana, Laffitte, Robin & a girl named Marcy

Red/South house:
Eustass Kidd, Killer, Jewelry Bonney & a girl named Brienna.

In North house/my relay team was Sanji, Bellamy & Baby 5. As Mr Brook went over the relay rules, I took off my shoes.

'Good thing we're running on grass.'

I quickly put my shoes by my bag, and listened in to what how Mr Brook is arranging our runners.

"For North house, I'll have Bellamy go first, then Baby 5, then Sanji & we'll end strong with Victoria!" Mr Brook said encouragingly.

Sanji pov
Before I could even talk to Victoria-chan, she had already walked off with Nojiko-chan, Bonney-chan & Robin-chan. I sighed as Nami-chan stood next to me, a sense of guilt in her pretty brown eyes.

"She's unhappy with me.." Nami-chan sighed.
I bit the inside of my cheek. "I've messed up my chance for her."
"You mean..you like her?"

And at that moment, I had a revelation. I've been crushing on her since I first laid eyes on her.

I parted my lips. "Y-yeah.." I swallowed some saliva. "I do."

*timeskip*

Victoria pov
I watched as Mr Le Roux finally started the race. From where I was standing, I could see that North house was currently in third place.

'Goddamn it, I knew we shouldn't have put Bellamy in our team.'

At 100m, Bellamy passed the baton to Baby 5, who tripped & ended up getting our house into last/4th place.

As I waited for the next baton pass to Sanji, I took my hair out of its ponytail, and put my flower head band into my hair. I looked over to the people I was facing, which was Nojiko, Bonney & Robin. Robin put a hand on my shoulder as Sanji ran towards us.

"Are you okay? How do you feel?" She asked.
"I...I dunno. But I do know one thing, Robin." I looked at her straight in the eye, my hand out behind me so that I can grab the baton from Sanji. "Is that I'm not worth Sanji's time. Nami deserves him more than I do."

Sanji pov
I was coming up to passing the baton to Victoria-chan. I was running fast towards her, like I was about to run into a embrace. As Victoria-chan turned towards me, I almost stopped.

'She's crying?! Why is she crying?!'

And then, she said:

"I'm sorry, Sanji."

She took the baton from my hand, and ran off, leaving everyone standing in the dust. Everyone was cheering for her, as she was already leading everyone by a large gap for first place. I wanted to run with her, and ask her why she said that she was sorry.

"Sanji,." Robin-chan called quietly.
I panted, watching as Victoria-chan fly over the ground. "What did she mean?"
"She thought that you & Nami were back together...she said, and I directly quote: "I'm not worth Sanji's time."

Third pov
"Aaand the winner of the senior race, is the North house! Victoria Chevallier bringing home even more points for North house!"

Victoria zoomed over the finish line, almost stumbling into some people. Around her, everyone in North house cheered for Victoria's success in winning both the relay & more house points.

But what they didn't notice, was her tear stained cheeks, and that her eyes were glistening from crying & running. She held onto the baton tightly, before throwing it to Mr Brook.

'Sorry...Sanji. Sorry for getting in the way of your relationship with Nami. I'll try to mind my own business.'

"And so that concludes todays Athletics day! We'll notify you on who are the overall winners are for Athletics day tomorrow. Until then, you're all free to go home & rest!"

Immediately after hearing that, Victoria shoved her feet into her socks, and then into her shoes. She grabbed her bag, and left without anyone to walk home with her. She practically fast walked home, and wasn't paying attention to where she was going...

And ended up walking straight into a Whitebeard mafia enemy territory: Blackbeard mafia.

She soon realized that as she looked behind her, and in front of her, and realized that she was surrounded by people in the Blackbeard mafia.

"Well look what we have here! A little blue fairy has wandered right over to us!" A large & muscular purple haired man said with a laugh at the end.
Then from the shadows, one of the people that she ran with, Latiffie stood in front of her.

"Ahh this is Victoria. I ran with her in todays Athletics day." He smiled creepily. "She's quite the fast runner."
Victoria narrowed her eyes. "I think things would go better if you all just let me leave."

"Oh you see, the problem is.."

Then, behind Latiffie, was the enormous man that many people feared stepped out. As soon as Victoria laid eyes upon him, she started to feel scared.

"I don't agree with that. I need you to lure out Marco!" Blackbeard then bellowed. "Because I know, that Marco is quite protective of you, isn't he?!"

Victoria screamed, but was knocked out.
