Chapter 12:What is Nami doing?

Victoria pov
When the year 12 girls 200m sprint races were done, the next rotation began. For this rotation, my year group (the year 12 girls) are on break. I decided to take this opportunity to eat some of the lunch that I've packed. I sat down with Nami & Robin underneath a tree near the 100m track.

"You did a lot of running." Nami comments.
"Oh yeah, and really I was just getting started." I said as I ate my muffin.
Robin chuckled. "I sure do hope that you get into the senior house relay."
I hummed. "It'd be cool."
" 'Cool' ?!" Nami repeats. "Victoria, it would be amazing! Hardly anyone gets into those relays!"
"That is true." Robin agrees.

"Well...I dunno. Its just, in a lot of my Athletics days at my past school, I always got into the final house relay. Its sorta becoming old. And besides, I probably won't get in anyway. There are other people who deserve to be in that race other than me."

Nami sighed, while Robin nods.
"Well...Really, Victoria, I'm proud that you actually got up & did the events. A lot of the girls nowadays aren't as Athletic as you."
"Thanks, Roby-Roo."

Nami then cleared her throat. "Look! Sanji is about to run the 100m sprint."
"Really? Where?"

Nami pointed him out. Smack bang, I spotted Sanji in his Blue attire. He was arguing with Zoro about something (probably something stupid as always). The other racers were giving the two boys weird glances, as they waited for Ms Boa to start the race already.

"I heard that Sanji is the fastest guy out of him, Zoro & Luffy." Robin said.
"He is, isn't he?" I asked.
"Yeah, he is." Nami confirmed.
I smile at Sanji. "He should be in the race. He deserves it more than I do."

Nami pov
I watched Victoria as she stared at Sanji with bright eyes.

'She really doesn't realize how lucky she is...'

She's so pretty! And she has gorgeous green eyes, and a beautiful smile. She's athletic, smart & can play the violin AND cook beautiful food. You don't get that in girls as much anymore.

'She is something that I want to be sometimes.'

*flashback*

"Hey, Nami..." Robin said.
I looked up. "Yeah?"
She gave me a look. "Are you really over Sanji?"
"O-of course I am! And besides, I don't want to get in the way of Victoria & him."
"Yes, I know that. But I know you. You'll become jealous of Victoria eventually."
I narrow my eyes. "You're making it sound like I already am jealous of her."

"I'm not saying that. But you know what happened with Violet. You were hinting to him for another chance, and he immediately dumped Violet for you. Nami..I'm not saying that you can't have feelings for Sanji, its just..." She couldn't finish her sentence.

*flashback end*

'Now I know what you mean, Robin..'

She was trying to tell me something back then. I can have feelings for Sanji...but I can't let then get in the way of my relationship with both Victoria & Sanji.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when a loud bang sounded in the air. Then I saw some boys running down the 100m track. In that race, was Sanji.

"YEAH SANJI! WOOOOH! RUN BOY RUN!" Victoria cheers as she stands up.

I looked back to Victoria, and saw that she was really smiling. I felt myself smile sadly as I look over to Robin, who was giving me a knowing look.

'I need to talk to him one last time before I let him go.'

"Oh? Where are you going, Nami?" Victoria asked.
"Oh...uh, I'm just going to buy some more lunch, yeah!" I lied.
"Oh? Well, okay."

I quickly ran off, and chased after Sanji, who was just filling his drink bottle up away from the events. Sanji looked up upon seeing me.

"Oh, hey Nami-chan."
"H-hey Sanji. Um...can I talk to you please?"
"Yeah, sure. What is it that you want to talk about?"

Victoria pov
"Hey....why did she run past the canteen when she said that she's buying lunch?" I asked.
"Maybe we should go & see." Robin said.
"Yeah...lets go."

We got up from our spots, and made our way over towards the direction where Nami ran off to. As we walked, I could hear Mr Le Roux announcing the people that are going to be in the house relays.

"-and finally for the North house! We have Bellamy, Vinsmoke Sanji, Baby 5 & Chevallier Victoria! The races will start in a few minutes! We'll start with the juniors first, then the seniors!"

'Sounds like we have enough time to see what Nami is really doing.'

When Robin turned a corner, she backed up & stopped me from going around that corner. Just as I was about to protest, Robin put a finger over her lips to say 'quiet'. We poked our heads around the corner, and saw that Nami was talking to Sanji. Sanji had a smoke in his mouth, and had his hair covering his eye, so I couldn't see how he was looking at Nami. Nami on the other hand, was talking with a straight face.

"She's talking to Sanji?" I asked quietly.
Robin bit her lip.

'Why did Nami lie about going to buy some food? Why did she lie? Is she hiding something from me?'

Sanji pov
"So..." I murmur. "Nami-chan, what exactly are you saying to me."
"I'm saying that we're not getting back together, ever." She states.

A small hole went straight through my heart. I tried my best to not appear...not bothered.

'I'm...actually not bothered by this.'

I breathed out some smoke. "Okay."
"But...before we go our ways, and leave off as friends...can I please have one more hug from you?"

I stood up, and we hugged. For one last time, I inhaled Nami-chan's sweet yet sour scent of tangerines. As always, her body felt huggable against mine.

'I'll miss the moments we've shared.'

But as I looked up, I saw Victoria-chan. She was staring at us with big eyes, and parted lips.

'No, wait. Victoria-chan! Its not what you think!'

She bit her lip, and ran off. I heard Robin-chan call out to her, and run after Victoria-chan. I wanted to stop what I was doing, and run after her. I wanted to clear everything up, and say that our hug was just our final one! I don't want her to think that she's not worthy of me...she doesn't have to be worthy.

She's perfect the way she is. She doesn't have to change anything for me.

'VICTORIA-CHAN COME BACK!'

(A/N:After so long a chapter is out! Sorry for the delay, I've been busy with Maths & Science assignments. Gah I'm so over school! Its only 4 days until I go back to Japan!!! So, is everyone enjoying the story? Rate it out of 10...it's probably a 2..)
