Tetsuya burst through the two doors, and, by then, I had already made the assumption of where we were heading. The Physical Education gym. It was on the school map Iris showed me. When I asked her what it was, she looked at me without any surprise of my lack of knowledge. Then she said it's where anyone who isn't an athlete goes to die from physical exhaustion. It didn't quite make me overjoyed to discover that we were headed there.
With a loss of breath I allowed the doors with push handles to slam shut, staring around at the large room decorated with laminated wood, and... A net in the center?
"Mine, you asshats!" A voice shouted. A loud noise echoed throughout the room as a girl all but flew into the air, spiking a white ball over the net. I recognized her hair cut and smug grin. She was the girl from my chemistry class. There was a boy to her left who stood in a stance with one leg out, arms folded. His glistening caramel hair was in a long ponytail that nearly reached the middle of his back, green eyes outlined by a breathtaking sky blue, Well, most of him was breathtaking. It was obvious that he was attractive, and, if I may add, extremely beautiful....
That sounded strange.
Anyways, the next was in front of pixie cut girl; well, sliding on the floor to hit the ball. He had white hair, sun kissed skin, and seemingly black eyes, which were now narrowed in concentration as he slid across the laminated floor. The boy next to him had dark brown hair, dark brown skin, and light brown eyes. He was extremely buff. He was shouting after the white haired boy. Tetsuya jumped in automatically, picking up the ball from the floor. As he did that with swift movements, I saw Yuuichiro intently watching from the sidelines.
"Gimme it!" Pixie-cut girl hissed, trying to pry the ball from Tetsuya's grasp. He clicked his tongue, shaking his head like a scolding mother.
"Not now. We have a newcomer, courtesy of our introverted friend over there." He gestured to Yuuichiro, who looked up in confusion. His eyes met mine. The emerald irises relaxed as he remembered the morning explanation. All heads turned towards me in that moment, and I felt overwhelmed, to say the least. My hand covered the large ruby, heat flushing my cheeks. Everyone swarmed me.
"He has... A nice sense of attire?" The brown haired boy said hopefully.
"Chemistry?" Pixie-cut asked. I nodded, and she chuckled.
"Weren't you in the showers last night?" The beautiful boy asked curiously.
He was the one crying about a pimple. It was to the right on his chin. I had almost missed it. I nodded once more.
"He's got a name." Yuuichiro piped up, standing at my side.
"I'm Mikaela Shindo." I said, answering it for everyone.
"Nice to meet ya! I'm Kitchi Hok'ee!" The brown haired boy said brightly.
"Rude, I was going to introduce you guys." Tetsuya mumbled.
"Since she mentioned Chemistry, I'm going to assume you're unfortunate enough to see what happens when you put chemicals and the Korean Union's next leader together. Her name's Hanuel-Min Seong."
"Call me Min." Pixie-cut cut shrugged. Her dark eyes were sharp, but not serious. Like a mischievous cat.
"This handsome bastard is Alan Eldrich, Austria's youngest Royal. He's decided on working in the government."
"Wow, thanks for pointing that out." The beautiful boy mumbled, giving me a polite smile.
"Last but certainly not least, Marco Achille, A.K.A the Italian Mafia." Tetsuya said cheerily. They white haired boy was opening glasses to place on his face.
"No, keep them off! You look so much better!" Alan cried. Marco didn't listen, his eyes blinking as he stared at me.
"Nice to meet you. I'm not the Italian Mafia, by the way. I'm a royal like everyone else except for Tetsuya." He informed me, holding out his hand. I hesitantly took it, shaking hands with him.
"Damn, you're really pale."
"He's Albino." Yuuichiro said smoothly. Everyone seemed surprised to see him talking so casually with a newcomer around. From what I had gathered, he didn't talk much when strangers were around.
Min was talking excitedly about her chemistry experiments to everyone else. I pretended like I was listening, but I was tuning in to what Yuuichiro was mumbling quietly.
"They were playing Volleyball. It's a sport where you have to hit the ball over the net and onto the opponent's side of the floor. It gets really competitive between Marco, Chi and Min,if you couldn't tell." I nodded.
"Why weren't you playing?"
"Trust me, if you didn't want to get hit in the face, you'd put me on the side." He smiled. I chuckled.Min kept eyeing my bracelet, which didn't exactly make me feel comfortable. We stayed in the gym for a long while as everyone talked to me about the academy wit list packing up the net. Kitchi- or Chi, as I've heard the others call him, said that lunch can get pretty hectic, and commented on my absence.
I had forgotten about the mess hall.
Alan complimented my eyes, Marco rolling his dark eyes. Tetsuya joked about him being jealous. Min was still eying my bracelet. When everyone was getting ready to head back after initiating me into their group of friends (they just made a circle around me and nodded once. It was strange), Min approached me, black hair bouncing. She had a very gothic look going on in the outfit department. I was told by almost all of them that I dressed like 'Teenage girl Aesthetics'. Whatever that meant.
She glanced over my shoulder to see that Yuichiro wasn't looking. She muttered something about Romeo and Juliet and quickly budding romances.
"Are you really Albino?" She asked curiously. I nodded.
She hummed.
"I thought Albinos could blush? I mean, you kinda turn blueish silver. Not that I'm trying to pry. Just curious." She said the last part quickly.
"I... Never noticed." Lying was coming naturally, I thought as I slid my hands in the jean pockets. She looked at me skeptically, and I feared she was becoming suspicious.
Which I knew was true. Min eyed me with a cocked brow, one eye narrowed. But she bought the excuse for now. Alan cheered about getting the net into the storage room while worrying about his hair. Marco told him he was fine. Tetsuya made another joke about the two. Chi was already talking about dinner with a broad smile, wanting to change the subject away from his friends. It gave me distractions from thinking about the inevitable fact that Min would know what I was soon enough.
So I was faced with two options to present Yuuichiro with.
Either I tell her, or she figures it out on her own.
Neither of them seemed pleasant.
