I- no, we- woke up the next morning to Hitoshi's sailing body flying onto ours. In his sleep Yuu had ended up entangled with me, our legs crossed over each other and lands lazily slung in various places. So, naturally, I had almost taken him to the floor with me. At least it prevented me from judo flipping the Shogun of Japan.
"Hi!" He chirped. Yuu, very sleepily, placed a hand on his father's face. His messy hair and squinted eyes added to the effect.
"How dare you." He said quietly, eyes stilly narrowed in his half awake state.
"Oh, hush," his uncle chided him like a mother, lifting the hand from his face. "It's not as if I haven't done it before."
Yuu slowly lowered himself back on the bed, face burrowing into the pillow. "Mika needed sleep." He grumbled. I did not. In fact, the charade Hitoshi pulled all but gave me a heart attack.

"I'm fine." I sighed, combing through my hair with a hand. Hitoshi sat back on his legs, still grinning to the ears. He resembled Tetsuya in a mirroring sort of way, except Hitoshi had no limits.
"You guys seem very unorderly, if you know what I mea-" Yuu kicked his uncle in the chest lightly.
"Not like that. You know why." He grumbled, taking my left hand and going back to sleep with it pressed to his chest.
"Yeah. Pretty nasty to watch, but you didn't have any symptoms of a post seizure."
"I didn't feel it over the shocking pain." I admitted quietly, glancing to Yuu's peaceful face. We had no class today.
"Yeah. Didn't seem like you were anywhere near reality. I won't ask what you were experiencing since even Yuu won't tell me. Little shit." He muttered the last part to himself, getting me to chuckle.

"We have a blood oath." I said very seriously.
"What?"
"I'm kidding." I laughed, gaze softening at Yuu's sleeping figure. "He saved me. I owe a debt to him."
"Like, a money debt? I have one of those." He said casually. I kicked his knee lightly.
"No. A life debt. Shouldn't you be giving Emperor Tetsuo more work than he needs?" I scoffed. He bit his tongue.
"Yes. I should. But he's the one that sent me to check up on the two of you. He loves this kid more than he shows it. The whole seeing your wife in your son does things. For him it was just being stern so he'd stay alive."
"And you?" I asked, cocking my head.
"No clue. I think he wants someone who was like her around. Her family." He shrugged, tickling Yuu's nose with his foot. I slapped the socked foot away with a butter expression. Hitoshi laughed. A quiet sound of an exhale of breath. Neither of us wished to wake the sleeping prince.
"You don't take off that bracelet." He said. Like Corinna, it wasn't a notation. It was a statement.
"Yes. It's dear to me."
"Symptoms of a hoarder, kid. On the topic of kids, I think I left mine alone with Tetsuo. That's never a good thing." He bounced from the bed, hopping to the door.
"They'll have had the positions of government memorized by the time you make it back." I joked. He nodded in agreement, pausing in the opened door.

"Take care of him."

Yuu grumbled, face burrowing into his pillow. He still held my hand as if he were going to lose me. But he seemed so innocent. So vulnerable.
Everything you are but shouldn't be.

"I will."

There was no lie in my words.

"Why are we going to watch them fence?" I asked Min as she led us through the main building.
"Because you haven't lived until you witness the shit they say when Tetsuya isn't around." She cackled, black hair an ink blob that was now untidy. That was putting it lightly. Yuu still refused to let go of my hand, but never took my right.
"She's not lying. I've never stuck around to fully experience it, but the rest of their club make some extremely vulgar comparisons that Tetsuya would cry tears of joy for." He mused. Min pushed open the large doors dramatically, and they almost hit Yuu in the face.

She didn't have enough time to apologize, because a sword was sailing at her face. Min dropped to the floor, not startled in the slightest. My right hand shot out, gripping the hilt tightly. Yuu was shocked, to say the least.
