The flash temporarily blinded me, leaving me to regain my sight through confused blinking. Yuuichiro was grinning as the photo popped out, his quick movement of taking the photo and placing it in my bag gave me no time to see it. He then told me I couldn't view it until later tonight. Tetsuya and Chi slid into our empty table, talking about cake. Alan and Marco followed, arguing about something. Min jumped onto the bench next to me with paint on her clothes.

Lunch break was one of the only times we could panic and complete our homework. Tetsuya was a prime example of that, three subjects surrounding him within five minutes. He was doing calculus homework on one of his hands, and reciting a list of formulas. I was amazed at his intelligence and skills in multitasking.

"You got that question wrong." Yuuichiro pointed out as he took a bite of an apple. Tetsuya cursed loudly.
"That's what you get for not completing your homework." Min snorted.
"And when did you finish your homework?" The blond fired back.

"...... One in the morning. That's not important." She coughed.
"You really should get more sleep." Chi advised, fingers tapping on the wooden table. He was like our fairy godmother from Africa.
"Everyone could get more sleep. That's a bad idea because of people like Alan."
"I need my beauty sleep, and so do you." He stuck out his tongue, one eye pinched shut as he looked down at his friend. Marco responded with an irritated expression, tugging on Alan's ponytail harshly. He cried out in pain, cursing out the culprit in another language. His dark eyes were satisfied as he took the insults, lips curled to a smirk. His glasses slipped down his nose.

Marco didn't bother fixing them this time.

Iris was explaining World War One to me as she fiddled with her golden ring, classes now over. I had a question that had been stuck in my mind for a long while.

"Who gave you that ring?" I asked. She looked up, allowing it to fall against her chest.

"My Fiancé. I've been waiting for him to come back. This was a parting gift." She explained simply.

"What was he like?" My curiosity grew beyond me.

"Oh..."

"Well, his name was Lucas, for one. Everyone calls him Luke. He wanted to be the next dean of the school, but his trip got in the way. He was sweet, although very headstrong. He... Always put those he cared about before him. It doesn't matter if he would die, you would always be his top priority." She paused, taking a deep breath.

"He was never as intelligent as me. He was the only person to point out this. Asked me 'why I wanted to teach Literature if I was a genius'." She chuckled. An emotion I didn't recognize was in her pale green eyes.
"What did he look like?"

"Hm... He had dirty blond hair that was always messy. Even if he combed it, it was messy. He had warm brown eyes that reminded me of the sun. He's built similar to Kitchi- very tall and very muscular. He had a contagious smile, you know, the kinds that, no matter how sad or mad you are, just seeing that goofy grin or hearing that laugh would make you smile with him." She mused.
"How can a smile be contagious?"

"His joy has the same effect on people that Yuuichiro has on you."
My cheeks grew hot.
What was she implying?
Was it that he makes me happy?

"You've seen that?"

"Honey, everyone's seen it. Mrs. Caulfield's been rambling about you two all week, saying that you guys tried getting the same book and insisted the other should take it instead of agreeing to take turns like normal friends would." She laughed, leaning back in her chair. It creaked.
