Laura's POV:

I wake up feeling a lot more tired than usual. My bruises and scars were slowly fading away. I hadn't touched my web cast these past two days due to the overprotective vampire currently snoring beside me. How cute she managed to stay when her face was at total peace. Her hair was messed up but it was definetly a beautiful mess. I've gotta snap out of it. I slowly begin sliding from Carmilla's tired grip until I hear her groan and move.

"Please tell me you're getting out of bed to pee and not find any types of crusade to go on." She says tiredly.

"Um." I smile at her a little too obviously.

"Laura, no."

"I'm only kidding Carm.. well... I think.. can't a girl just do her webcast in peace!" I laugh and get out of bed. Carmilla grabs my yellow pillow and pulls it over her face, trying to block out the light and my babbling.

I turn on my camera and begin my normal broadcast.
"It's been 2 days since the last Silas attack. Turns out the viper wasn't the only thing on campus trying to cause damage. A few trolls decided to raid the campuses lab and cafeteria."

"Let's not forget the library" Carmilla says muffled under the pillow.

"Right right. There's been a case of 4 missing books in the, now burned up, library. Laf has been trying to figure out the missing books, but with most of them burned, it's turning out to be a lost cause. But we're not giving up hope! Since JP has most of the library memorized we should be able to pinpoint a few clues."

Carmilla laughs from under the pillow, "goodluck with that. Laura come back and lay with me will you."

I turn to the camera. "Excuse me while I take care of the grumpy vampire." Carmilla gasps acting offended, "until next time gentle viewers!" I turn off my camera and scoot my chair towards Carms bed. "Must you always be so broody?"

"Aww what, dark and mysterious vampire ain't your style anymore, cupcake?" She smirks at me and puts her arms out to me for a hug.

"Oh no. No no. You don't get to do that. It's my turn to think of today's festivities!" I smile brightly at the now mad vampire.

"If it involves leaving this bed, I disagree with them." She says a little mad.

"A walk to the old observatory sound fun?" I smile, "we haven't had much time to ourselves since we got back due to the trolls."

She smiles but then it fades slowly. "But Laura, I'm a little worried about the forest. It's been quiet lately but what if we run into something again?"

"What, my big bad girlfriend can't handle a little tussle with the trolls?" I nudge her but she only smirks then looks down. "Carm I'm only kidding. I know you're trying to keep me safe but" I grab her hands, "the safest place I could possibly be is with you."

Carmilla gives me a warm slowly risen smile. "Alright cupcake. Let's get walking then." She gives me a gentle kiss on the cheek and we begin to pack our things before heading out. As I reach for our picnic blanket she does the same and our hands collide. We smile at each other and my attention is brought to Carmilla's arm. There seems to be a small black bruise on it.

"What's that?" I point to her arm and she looks at it as if she hadn't seen it till now.

"Huh. Strange. I usually heal a lot better than this." She shrugs her shoulders, "I'm sure it's nothing sweetie, got everything you need?"

I let it slide as well. "Sure do! Lets go!"

We arrived at the observatory a few minutes before dark. Carm insisted on teleporting us but I wanted to enjoy the stroll since she's had me locked in my room these past 3 days.

We set up our picnic blanket on the floor of the observatory and lay back as the open sky began to twinkle before us. This was perfect. Carmilla wrapped her arm around me and held me close.

"I could lie here in complete silence with you and it'd be more than enough for me" I say as I snuggle into her and look up to her.

She smiles looking down on me as I lay my head on her chest. "Don't expect any cute poetic things from me, kitten, it's not my style." She says and lays her head back closing her eyes.

"Just one poem?" I say wanting to hear her voice while watching the stars. "The first one that comes to mind!" She sighs and looks at me as I give her the puppy face.

"You're killing me, Hollis" she rolls her eyes and smiles at me as I peck her lips in excitement.

"Let me see." She looks at the sky as if trying to catch the right words from the stars.

"Some say the world will end in fire, Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favour fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice Is also great And would suffice."

"Who said that?" I look at her as she closes her eyes.

"Robert Frost." She speaks quietly.

"Why did that come to mind?" I say tiredly, starting to close my eyes and wrapping my arms loosely around her waist.

"I've always found beauty in paradoxes. Love and death. Creation and destruction. Good and bad." She replies, "what would the world be without its contradictions."

"Less chaotic?" I laugh

"Where would WE be without finding beauty in the differences?" She says sounding as if she's in a daze.

Before I could answer I began dozing off falling slowly asleep. I feel a light kiss on my head and Carmilla mumble, "Goodnight, Laura." Next I knew I was out like a light.
