Laura's POV:
It's been three days since the incident with Carm and the blood. Laf still hasn't gotten back to us about where, or who, the blood came from but they promised to get right on it. I know Carmilla meant no harm, it was just a little frightening to know she could just black out and not remember. It was Saturday morning and Carm wanted to spend it lazing around, but I had better plans."Laura, no, I don't want to go searching through my mother's office."
"But Carm, there could be some good clues in there about her where abouts. We both know she's not dead. These creatures can't possibly be coming in on their own."
"Yes Laura, yes they can" she pouts at me.
"We can't keep hiding in here Carm." I say sitting beside her. "You know just as well as I do that if we don't figure out what her plans are, we both could get hurt." I say staring at Carms bruise that seemed to have grown about an inch wider. She notices me staring and covers her arm.
"Baby," she says sweetly catching me off guard causing me to look up at her. "I'm..." She pauses and sighs.
"You're?"
"I'm afraid okay." She says standing up now and walking around the room.
"Oh. Of what exactly?" I say still shook at her admitting she has the slightest bit of fear right now.
"A lot." She says looking down at her hands sitting across the room from me now. "You getting hurt.." She starts speaking quieter. "ME.. hurting you.."
"But you're not gonna hurt me!" I say now going to the other side of the room with her and placing my hands in hers. She admires them like she hadn't held them in a long time. Her thumbs sliding up and down the backs of my hands, slowly tracing the visible veins in them. I watch her facial expressions begin to harden again. Could she feel my heart beat. Could she hear it.
"I trust you. You know I do." I say cupping her cheek with my right hand leaving the other in hers. I put my forehead against her chin and feel her sigh and relax.
"You have no idea what I'm capable of.. yet you stay.."
"And I don't plan on leaving any time soon." I smile genuinely, she then pulls me into a tight hug and places a long and needy kiss on my lips.
We both needed it.
The kiss begins to pick up and Carmilla decides to gently push me on my back and get on top of me.
Where did this come from? I smile to myself while kissing her. She slowly begins to kiss down my neck to the first button on my shirt.
Before she can go any further, Laf and Danny burst in on us.
"Hey guys! I think I've got an ide-......oh.." Laf pauses now covering their slowly turning red face as Danny immediately turns the other way trying not to pay attention to the scene. "Ah sorry I-"
"What is it Mad Scientist?! Can't ever seem to use a door correctly, can you?" Carmilla says rolling her eyes and getting off of me, completely ignoring Danny's existence in the room. She was pretty tense now, I could feel it.
"Right, um, well, sorry again," I laugh at Laf's cherry red face as they fumble on their words. "I haven't quite figured out what the black particles in your blood are.."
"Get to the point" Carmilla says angrily, "I've got something to take care of." I grab hold of her hand and rub it gently, trying to calm her down.
"Right, well me and Danny went to the library and managed to find a not-so-intact-book that explains there are different types of parasites that can be entered into a vampires bloodstream through an open wound and cause them to have difficulty controllin-"
