Edge Babies

It was a sunny morning on Dragons edge and hiccup was working on Inferno in the forge trying to make it as portable and compact as possible to make carrying it around a lot easier

"You know what bud, I have a good feeling about today" he said talking to his best friend who had fallen asleep in the summer sun

Hiccup laughed and continued to work on his weapon, everyone had their own weapons so he wanted to have one

Snotlout had his collection of bludgeons
Fishlegs had his Knife
Astrid had her battle axe and two daggers
The twins both had what seemed to be unlimited spears and throwing knives

Hiccup felt a little left out so he decided to make this his own personal signature weapon

And inferno 2.0 was the final result

"Here goes nothing he said" as he pressed a button and his sword sprung out its holster into life engulfing itself in flames

"Hahaha YES!" Hiccup cheered "I am unstoppable"

"I wouldn't go that far" came a voice

Hiccup turned around to see Astrid standing their with her hands on her hips "well hello M'lady" hiccup said

"Fancy training with me and my new weapon" he said gently swinging round inferno getting used to its weight

Astrid's smile soon dropped as she took a cautious step backwards when hiccup offered to train "erm n-no thanks hiccup I'm good" she said

"What!?" Hiccup gave her a confused look "you always love to train no matter what, come on I'll charge at you and you try to block me" he said

"That's really not a good idea hiccup" Astrid said clearly backing off but hiccup didn't pay attention

"GO!" Hiccup said and charged at her raising inferno over his head ready to strike her down

"HICCUP NO!" Astrid screamed as hiccup was about to bring inferno down on her

She had no defence

This was going to hurt

She closed her eyes tight and waited for the pain to strike her body

"HICCUP NO SHES PREGNANT!"

Hiccup froze a few steps before Astrid who was now cowering in fear of him panting heavily

All feeling disappeared from his body as inferno fell from his hand and landed on the wooden deck with a clang

He turned to see who screamed at him and it was......................."Dagur?"

He looked back at Astrid who was obviously scared in the current situation

Hiccup slowly approached her and held out his hand to help her up

Astrid was hesitant at first but she soon grabbed his hand and he pulled he to her feet and hugged her tightly "go to your hut, I'll meet you there after I talk to Dagur and we'll talk okay" he whispered into her ear

He felt Astrid slightly nodding, he released her and she walked away towards her hut

Once she was out of ear shot hiccup looked over to Dagur and started laughing "I swear Dagur don't you ever do that again, I almost had a stroke" he said

"Don't ever do what again?" Dagur asked, was hiccup not believing what he said

"You know what I mean" Hiccup said lightly punching Dagurs shoulder "shouting ASTRIDS PREGNANT" he chuckled

"I wasn't joking Hiccup, Astrid really is pregnant.............and she's scared" Dagur said sounding very serious

Realisation hit hiccup like an earthquake as he just realised what he could've done if Dagur hadn't stopped him in time

"How do you know?" Hiccup asked

"I was out on patrol with shattermaster about a week ago and when we got to the south side of the island we saw Astrid and Stormfly on one of the beaches, I went down to check on her because she was crying like she'd just seen someone die, she's almost a month pregnant hiccup, and she is defiantly scared"

Hiccups heart broke into a million pieces when he realised what Dagur had told him and he remember the events that occurred a month ago that now lead to this

He and Astrid were all alone on the edge and they were just playfully fighting and wrestling but then wrestling led to kissing and kissing led to stripping and stripping led to this

He got Astrid pregnant and ruined her life at 18

"Hiccup she doesn't know what to do, she even suggested not telling you and running away because she felt you wouldn't want a baby yet" Dagur said giving him sympathetic eyes

"Of coarse I want the baby Dagur it's just...............Because of me her future life is now ruined" he said

"Not true"Dagur scolded "her life isn't ruined because she will have you to help her through this and you are both going to be great parents" Dagur said giving hiccup a warm smile

"Now go on I think Astrid would like to talk to you right now"

Astrid was laid in her bed staring at the ceiling with one hand behind her head and another resting gently on her stomach tracing little circles where her child was growing

"I hope hiccup stays with us" she said talking to her flat stomach "I don't know what I'd do without him"

Soon a knock on her bedroom door broke her out of her trance, she got out of bed and opened her bedroom door to see hiccup standing there looking very worried and concerned

"Astrid I am so so sorry" he said wrapping his arms around her pulling her into a deep meaningful hug "you should've just told me"

"I couldn't hiccup I was so scared, I just didn't know what to do" Astrid said as tears started to well up in her eyes

"Astrid I can assure you everything will be okay" he said wiping her tears away with his thumb

Astrid looked up at him, when she felt his hand on her stomach she gently smiled and placed one of her hands over his

"Promise me you won't leave" she said to him

"Astrid I would do no such thing, I have a family I need to keep safe now"

"And dragon riders" came a feminine voice from downstairs

Hiccup and Astrid made their way downstairs to see all the other dragon riders standing in the lounge with their dragons outside

"So you guys are expecting?" Heather asked with a cheeky smile "yeah I..........I guess we are" Hiccup said with a smile

"That's awesome you guys" Fishlegs said trying to hide his excitement " but who's going to tell stoick?" He said

"Tell me what?"

"Da Dada were dead" hiccup said
