Both Robin and I were going through Nottingham with our hoods up. No one seemed to notice since there were several other people were doing the same thing. We came to one of the food booths that I usually got food from and the woman seemed to recognize me but never said anything. The guards nor the sheriff seemed to be near much less in sight.
"Why are you looking around?" Robin asked.
"She has been caught around here by the sheriff and the black guards before she vanished out of Nottingham." The woman answered for me.
"So it's a force of habit that I look before she allows me to get food." I say following up on what was said.
"Oh I see. You never told anyone you were an orphan inn Nottingham." Robin says in a low voice.
"Where else would I be an orphan in, Timbuktu?" I sarcastically in a low voice as well.
"Although she wasn't the only young orphan I saw almost everyday, she used to be in a little group of kids her age who are also orphans. So I'm guessing your posing as something?" The woman asked. I never got the chance to catch her name, not that I didn't want to know it, just I didn't have much time to ask because I was always being chased after.
"Yeah, father and daughter." Robin answered.
"Where's the mother?" asked the woman.
"Uhh.. Dead?" I answered without thinking.
"Uh-huh you don't sound too sure." replied the woman.
"Hey no one ever said we had to go into the specifics here. You just asked who we were posing as." I respond quickly.
"Raelynn if we don't get going soon we might not get into the castle unnoticed." Robin said interrupting the discussion.
"Then why did we come here since we're going into the castle?" I asked.
"Black guards." Robin answered quickly.
"Oh." Well that explains why we're here.
"See Robin I told you we'd get in." I whisper after Robin comes in.
"How do you know where all the secret passages are at?" Robin whispered back.
"Well I wouldn't say I know where aaall the secret passages are, and let's just say I've snuck into the castle enough times to know a good majority of them." I explain.
"That makes sense." Robin says impressed.
"So what exactly are we looking for again?" I asked.
"Oh something that the sheriff took." Robin said after a minute.
"What is it about you and the sheriff? Do you have like a bad history with him?" I ask.
"I was wondering the same thing about with you and the sheriff." Robin said right back.
"Apparently he thinks trying to get food too survive is a bad thing." I say after taking a huge breath.
As we get to the door to the sheriff's room Robin explains what I need to look for. It wasn't the first time I had to sneak into the sheriff's room, and I figured that whenever the last time I snuck in wasn't going to be the last time I had to. Getting in and out of his room was never an easy thing to do. Which is why I've tried to avoid trying to do so as much as I can. As I'm looking for what Robin wanted me look for, I see the bow that I lost almost a year ago. At least I thought I lost it. After about five or six minutes I come back out with what was needed plus my bow. After looking at whatever this thing Is for a little while I give it to Robin with No questions about it and we both leave.
Once we get out of Nottingham, and back to the camp seeing that everyone else went to sleep, we both fall asleep right away without another word. The last thought I had just before laying down was that the sheriff was gonna be mad more than ever.
