Happy Belated Birthday

It's been an hour since I've been throwing snow balls at a tree and I'm wondering how much longer it's going to take. Both my hands are red and I can hardly feel them. There was a small spot of snow on the tree with built on snow because of the length of time off throwing the snow balls. I try to warm up my hands by blowing on them but that's not much help. Winter has always been a miserable season to everyone and even more so to the people who don't have roofs over their heads.

"The longer I stay here the more likely I'm going to freeze over before anyone even comes to get me." I say to myself as I'm trying too move my fingers. My entire body has been feeling numb. Before long I hear heavy footsteps behind me, too heavy to be a person. I start to become suspicious and hoping that it wouldn't be Guy on his horse.

"Are you lost kid?" A woman asked. I turn around to see just a woman on a horse.

"No but I am freezing." I say.

"You look it to. Are you sure your not lost?" Before I could even answer, Marian comes over to grab me to take me back to the camp.

"About time Marian I am getting extremely close to freezing to ice." I say a bit madly.

"I know I'm sorry there was a bit of a problem setting things up." Marian says sympathetically.

"Before you go, here's a blanket." The woman says and throws me a blanket. It looks like it's been hardly used.

"Thank you." I say as I pick it up and wrap it around me.

By the time we get back to the camp, I go to the fire to warm up right away. While I was warming up, both Little John and Robin gave food and something to drink. Luckily the food was warm so I warmed my hands up under the plate before I ate. Before long I started to feel tingling in my hands and feet.

"What's taking you so long to eat?" John asks.

"I'm trying to warm up my hands John. If this was a blockhead of an idea of a belated birthday, then it is in very poor taste." I say as I give him a small glare.
