Longer than Expected

Robin was gone longer than he meant and it made everyone wonder where he was and how much longer he was going to be. Out of everyone here though, Much seemed to be more concerned about him, next to Marian. It made me wonder if he had an incident that delayed him from coming back the day he promised to come back. No one could really do anything, since most of us were trying to break up the arguments between Much and John.

After weeks of trying to doing that, I finally got tired of it and snuck my way out to make an attempt to find Robin. It was clear that the argument for right now was bad enough that had everyone else too busy to go silent to think who else might be missing. A mile out, I could hear someone screaming. At first I thought I recognized who was screaming, so I followed the sound of the scream. When I got to the person, I realized that it wasn't anyone I knew but the person looked like she was faking an injury. I only got so close to the woman before I stopped. She was definitely faking some sort of injury because she was on the ground and there was nothing to trip over. I figured I might as well play along and act like I don't know anything.

"Hey are you ok?" I said sounding concerned.

"Not really. I think I dislocated my ankle." yup she was trying to hard.

Didn't surprise me, if the Sheriff or Guy wanted to trick someone, they had better of brought someone who could actually sound like they are in pain. And somewhere where someone could actually trip over and make it seem real.

"And, um ho- how'd you do that?" I asked wondering what she was going to say.

"I tripped over a large rock." was I supposed to believe this? I mean holy crap this woman had horrendous acting skilles.

"Ok but there's no rock. Did you just hobble your way this far and twist your ankle somehow?" I pointed out.

She gave me a look of disappointment as if she expected me to buy her story of being injured. Her screaming in pain was the only part that wad convincing.

"You said the same thing the last person said." the woman said.

"Well did this person say that you are a terrible actor? I mean the only thing that was convincing was the scream. Only a fool would buy your little story of your 'fake dislocated ankle'," Guy was behind this, I knew he was behind it. "Who hired you? Gisborne?" I tested the woman.

She didn't answer, not verbally, but she did nod her head confirmin that it was Guy who hired her to fake an injury. Someone like her is always desperate to get her fair share to get a few coins in her pocket. It was sad to me she was doing this. Apparently she doesn't know Guy well enough that he rarely keeps to his word, at least not to a woman begging him for money. He knew how to make a person look like a fool, but not as well as the Sheriff.

"Who was this other person?" I asked half wondering who she spoke about.

"All I know is that he's tall and has a sheeth on his back holding a bow and a few arrows." the woman answered after a minute or two.

I didn't need to ask anymore questions, I knew exactly where he was, or at least I thought I did. I turned around leaving the woman as she begged me to give her a few coins, but I didn't turn around. I had no plan but I knew I'd think about what I'm going to do on the way. A couple miles before I got out of Sherwood, a pine cone was thrown at my head and looked up the tree from which it came.

"Ok that was uncool!" I said.

A second later, Robin jumped from the tree.  He had an amused expression all over his face. How did anyone not want to strangle him at the camp every once in a while? He didn't seem to be that worried that once he got back to the camp, everyone was either going be beyond pissed, or extremely worried. Well more like they're going to be worried then beyond pissed once they heard the truth.

"Ok explain yourself, what took you so long." I said dryly.

"Nottingham. Where else would I be?" Robin said.

  "Doing.. What exactly?"

He looked at me surprised about the tone of voice I gave. Where did that come from anyway? Robin finally explained to me what had happened and why it took him so long to finally come back. It almost sounded like an excuse the way it was explained.
