A few weeks after Lila introduced me to her older sister we all snuck into the castle of York. I didn't know they were in a similar situation as mine with the sheriff. They only said they were trying to find something but didn't specify what it was they were trying to find. The longer we roamed the castle, the more I became curious. As far as I knew the possibility of finding whatever they're cooking for is low. After several minutes, I became bored being around Lila's older sister and snuck away.
While I was walking around, I managed to walk all the way to the dungeons. Since no guards seemed to be around I decided to see how many prisoners were down there. As I was walking through, some of the people gave me glares, others whispered. There was a few unusual looks but it wasn't anything new. The dongeon was quite a bit different than what I was used to. There seemed to only be one person who didn't glare, whisper or give me an unusual look but looked more curious about me.
"Your the Prodigal Child aren't you?" said the man as I was passing his cell, which made me stop.
It caught me by surprise that he even figured that out.
"How did you know who I was?" I asked.
He smiled as if it was obvious, which confused me so much.
"No child could have an innocent look with your title and be able to get away from the guards and lose them and cause so much trouble. Just about everyone knows who you are. Only by reputation of course. The name's Archer by the way." he said.
"My name is Natasha. I must say, I have never met anyone outside Nottingham, Locksley or Knighton who knows about me until now. And the words 'just about' are the key words." I said.
"Your a long way from home then if your from either one of those places. Why would you risk giving out your name when you are so far out?" Archer asked.
He asked a good question but not good enough to stump me.
"Maybe because no one is in a rush to chase after me or claim the pounds to get me and turn me into Sheriff Vaisey." I answered.
It occurred to me that I shouldn't have said the last part after I said it. But by the looks of it Archer didn't seem to be interested in the money, or at least I hoped he wasn't. Most of these prisoners are probably going to end up dead sooner or later hopefully.
"Vaisey put out a price to get you? How slow are the guards over there?" he asked.
"Well it's not that they're slow, just that they're they are stupid. His right hand man isn't the greatest at getting people either which really makes me confused considering how many times he failed the sheriff." I said.
How is Guy still working for Vaisey? It never occurred to me that Gisborne hasn't been kicked out yet after all his failed attempt to get Robin or I. It gave me something I could mock Guy for to piss him off when I got back.
"You look amused. Any reason?" Archer asked.
"Having this conversation helped me realize I have something else I could mock Vaisey's right hand man about." I said with a smile.
Just as Archer was getting ready to say something, a couple of gaurds start coming dongeons. We both knew I was as screwed if I just stood here like an idiot. They were both talking but that didn't change the fact that my heart was pounding.
"Natasha you need to try sneaking by the two guards unnoticed, you think you can do that?" Archer advised quietly as I nodded.
Luckily the doorway wasn't completely spread out. I barely got to the wall next to the entrance when the guards walked through. Once I got out of the dungeons, I ran into Lila and her sister. They both were worried that I may have been caught, which took me a while to reassure them that I couldn't be easily caught. After they calmed down after several minutes we got out of the castle as quickly as we could.
"Raelynn you can't just sneak off the way you did, you could have got caught." Lila's sister said.
"Yeah but I didn't, that's the thing I know how to not get caught." I said with a smile.
She didn't know what to say. Lila kept looking at me as if she was trying to place a name on me or something to that effect. It kind of freaked me out but I didn't show it.
"Wait Raelynn aren't you the Prodigal Child?" Lila asked.
"She couldn't be, wouldn't Raelynn tell us about that?" her sister asked.
"It took seven months for some of my friends to figure that out." I said as they both looked at me in surprise.
"Well why are you here then? Aren't you supposed to be in Nottingham or something?" Lila asked.
"Well apparently from what I heard someone is looking for me and this is the last place she'll expect to find me. And as far as I know, she's still looking for me throughout Nottingham, Locksley and Knighton." I answered.
"Who brought you here then? Surely you didn't come here on your own." Lila's sister asked.
"Your right I didn't come here on my own, Sarah did. She told me she would get me once the woman left." I was already getting tired of answering questions.
