This was not my morning.

The second I stepped foot into the school's hallway, I wished I could crawl into a hole and die.

My wandering eyes searched for my many friends, but to no avail. I sighed, wishing for a miracle. I had slept in because my idiot of a brother had kept me up all night with his complaining and procrastination. He had also hogged the bathroom, resulting in me falling asleep at 2am.

Then, like a torch in the dark, Nita's bright grin caught my eye. I hurried to close the gap between my best friend and I.

However, luck was not on my side this morning, as the most unfortunate thing happened.

I heard it.

And by 'it', I mean her.

Keeping my head down, I scurried down the hallway.

If I thought hearing her speak to her posse was the most unfortunate thing in the world, I was sadly mistaken.

Her nauseating voice taunted me as I walked by.

"Going somewhere?" she sneered.

Turning around ever so slowly, I plastered on the sickliest, sweetest fake smile I could muster.

"Sabrina. How lovely to see you," I sung through gritted teeth.

"Hmm, if only I could say the same to you," she grinned maliciously.

As a scowl took over my features, I sighed internally.

Yep, I was so wrong. This has to be the most unfortunate thing to grace my existence.

"What the hell do you want Sabrina? I don't have time for your crap."

"Well that's too bad. Here I was hoping you'd join me for tea and biscuits," she drawled, sardonically. "Linda, I think you know damn well what I want."

Sabrina had been harassing me for a week and it was all for this. I don't even know what she could possibly want with his number. We all know he hates her guts almost as much as I do. Almost.

"Hmm...," I pondered devilishly. "I'll give it to you....or maybe I won't."

When all I got in response was a withering look, I sighed.

"What do you need it for anyway?"

"None of your business, Giraffe!" she snapped.

"Geez, Sabrina take a chill pill."

I rattled off his digits, followed by a careless "Happy now, Demon?" under my breath.

I obviously need a health check, as anyone could've foresaw what a bad idea this was.

My eyes met the enraged irises of Sabrina's and before she could do anything, I hurtled towards Trinity.

"Whoa Linda, what's got you so fired up?"

The amusement in her eyes and slight tilt of her mouth showed that she already knew.

"Queen Bitch, that's what. Anyway enough with that demon, where's everyone else?"

"I'm not entirely sure. Wanna join me and search for them?"

I glanced at my watch, we had fifteen minutes till the bell.

"Hmm, ok but only for a few minutes. If we haven't found them by 8:30, I'm ditching you and going to class."

We wandered down the corridor and around the corner before we heard it.

Taylor's booming voice stopped us in our tracks as he shouted "Nita, Linda! Have you seen Jacko and the others?"

Keeping in step with him were Ley and Lissie.

Nita, the loud person she is, shouted right back at them.

"No, but we're looking for them! Wanna join?"

Taylor looked at the girls, searching for their confirmation, then nodded in agreement.

~~~
"Linda, wanna tell me why Sabrina's called me five times in the last fifteen minutes?" Jacko's terrifyingly calm voice greeted us.
I ground to a halt a good three metres away from him as our friends all watched with mixed emotions of amusement and pity.
Jacko was eerily calm when mad, and that's what made him scary when in anger.
"Well, hey to you too. Nice to finally find you after searching everywhere." I nervously chuckled.
"Well? Why is she calling me? Wait, how does she even know my number? What did you do to make the she-devil call me, Melinda?!"
I gulped in fear and hesitation. You know Jacko is pissed when he uses your full name. We all have nicknames, and we never call each other by our full names. Well, rarely.
"Ok, so...I might've told her your number, please don't kill me!" I blurted out.
Jacko turned bright red, brimming with frustration and anger, a firework ready to pop. I covered my ears and shut my eyes, feeling like a little kid as I braced myself for the eruption.
"WHAT?! MELINDA! I cannot believe you!"
I grimaced as he sighed in defeat.
"Well, now that's out of the way, we only have five minutes to get to class," Lissie announced.
"Oh shit!" Taylor cursed. He's always been the more crass one out of the boys.
I was the only one of my friends that had biology first period, so I said my goodbyes and went on my way.
I was lost in my thoughts, pondering over what to get Ley for her birthday on the weekend.
And that's when I stumbled and collided with a wall. I stepped back and glanced up, stunned, only to find the wall was actually none other than Ryan Carter. Oh boy.
I was seriously wrong last time. This is the most unfortunate thing out of everything to happen.
His brown eyes were clouded with irritation as he grunted out, "Watch it."
"Why, sorry, Mr Sunshine," I muttered.
I obviously didn't learn anything from my encounter with Sabrina this morning, because his eyes darkened further as he glared, then decided a mere peasant like me wasn't worth the anger of the King of McArthur High.
As he stalked off, I sighed. This is so not my day.
