I totally forgot to say this in my last update but PSA: I do not know whether my representation is hurtful, incorrect or problematic, and if it is please tell me and I will remedy it as best as I can. I am not a lesbian so I do not know whether I have accurately written my character, and any help or suggestions are welcome. Representation and diversity are so important in literature, and the best way to stay united through diversity is to have accurate representation and inclusion of all types of people. Anyway, exams are over so here is an update! Thanks for being patient xx
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS CHAPTER MAY HAVE HOMOPHOBIC VIEWS AND THEY ARE IN NO WAY MY VIEWS. THESE VIEWS BELONG TO A FICTIONAL CHARACTER I MADE UP, AND I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT AGREE WITH THESE VIEWS. Love is love is love

"Took you long enough. I thought you were meant to be smart Linda?" Summer snarled at me.
"Why? Why would you do this? How did you do this?" Disbelief laced my voice, my whole body was numb with shock.
Summer scoffed. "Why? How? Well, let me start with how I did it. Now, what many people don't realise is that The Lying Serpent? It goes far beyond that stupid Instagram account. Remember Riley's party? You all thought it was Jacko. Ha! As if that dumbass could pull something like that off. No, that pure genius was all me. And my first Instagram post, of you singing horribly? Well, I was in the car with you that day. It was so easy to record you on my phone. As for the photo of Sabrina kissing her disgusting lesbian lover? Well, I have contacts," she smirked evilly.
"That thing about Rhys, that cheating guy? That wasn't hard to find, I 'consoled' his girlfriend and got a lot of information that way. I don't think she even realised. He was an irrelevant part of my whole scheme. Now, my second favourite secret I disclosed to the whole school: your father's cancer scare. That was easy enough to find out, after all you and your friends were stupid to trust me with all your secrets. But my favourite secret, oh yes, that was a good one. Sabrina's sexuality. Now, I guess you could say this secret was the whole reason I even became The Lying Serpent."
"What do you mean?" Sabrina asked, her voice croaky.
"Why, Sabrina. Your dear old mother and cousin hired me to, as I quote it, 'scare away the lesbian in her'."
"What?" Sabrina's voice was but a whisper.
"That's right dear. You see, I come from a small community group that dedicates its time to eradicating this whole 'LGBTQ+' movement. There's only one way to fall in love, and that's the straight way."
I gasped as Sabrina's face filled with rage and hurt. "How homophobic of you disgusting people! You have no right going around telling people how to live their lives, and how to love people. Love is love, it doesn't matter what shape or form it comes in, it's still love. Fuck you! You aren't going to get away with any of this," I spat out, hatred seeping into my words.
"Hmm, too bad Melinda, I already did."
And with that she made her way out, pausing at the door. "You know Melinda, it is a real shame that I had to deceive you like this. You weren't so bad, I actually liked you. Such a shame that you would stand with lesbian scum like her."
I hissed, teeth bared. "Fuck off out of my life. I don't need nor want you here."
As the door swung shut behind her, I turned around to face Sabrina. "You ok?"
"Yep. She's stupid anyway, right? Just another person I don't need in my life."
"That's right. So...any special girls in your life?" I elbow her playfully. "Huh?"
"Funny. No, not really. Maybe one day though."
"Definitely one day. You're a stunner Breeny, don't forget that."
"Thanks Linny."
"Now let's go see Jacko and them."
"Ok..." She had a weird look on her face.
"What's up?"
"Umm, you know how I had Jacko's number and stuff?"
"Oh yeah, why did you have his number? Why did you even want it?"
"So, he kind of knew I was a lesbian. I needed his number because he was my secret confidant, but he blocked me because I enjoyed teasing him too much."
"Figures," I laughed.
We left the bathroom, arm in arm.
