Phil's POV

"Almost there, almost there!" I groan in concentration.

"Oh no you don't, Philly," Y/N shoves me off the track, taking the lead and passing the finish line. "YES! HA, TAKE THAT!" She screams, throwing her controller on the bed as she jumps up and begins her victory dance. "What was that you said? 'I bet I can still kick your butt at Mario Kart'? I'll have that five pounds now, thanks." She holds out her hand.

I pull five pounds out of my pocket and go to put it in her hand, but she pulls it away. I look at her, confused.

"I wouldn't really take your money, Philly." She's too kind.

"Okay, then. If you won't take it, I'll use it to buy you a milkshake tomorrow," I grin.

"You don't have to do that, Phil. I'll bring some-"

"Nope. Milkshakes. Tomorrow. I'm paying. I did knock you over and leave you on the floor, after all. It's the least I could do."

She sighs and rolls her eyes. "Fine."

There's a comfortable silence for a moment. Suddenly, an idea pops into my head.

"Y/N, how-" I'm interrupted by Mrs L/N poking her head through the door.

"Phil, your mum wants you home. Now."

I nod and go to stand up. Y/N grabs my arm. "Hang on a minute, you haven't finished."

I bend over and give her a hug. "I'll tell you tomorrow." She nods and lets go, allowing me to walk out her door.

I rush home. Dinner is probably ready. I walk in and sit at the table just as it's being served.

"So, how did things go with Y/N?" Mum asks, obviously wanting to rid the silence, and of course to know if she'll still have a "daughter-in-law".

"Great," I respond. Knowing she won't get much conversation from me, she nods and turns to Martyn.

Once we've finished eating, I rush upstairs and grab my phone.

I scroll through my contacts until I find Kat and press call.

"Phil?"

"Hey, Kat, I was wondering, is that camping trip still happening?"

"Yes, in March. Why?"

"I was wondering," I pause and blush a little, "if Y/N could come with us."

"Of course she can!" She almost squeals. "I'll bring that spare tent and some sexy tunes, you can confess your love to her, the two of you can have some alone time-"

"Woah, woah, woah!" I cut her off. "None of that is happening! We're just friends!"

"Who love each other."

I sigh. "It's more of a one-way romance."

Kat chuckles and I can tell she's rolling her eyes. "Oh, Philip, if only you knew."

My heart begins to race and butterflies flutter aggressively in my stomach. "Knew what?"

"You're so oblivious!"

I pause for a second. She doesn't, does she?...

"You mean... Y/N loves me too?"

"No, she loves the next-door neighbors pig," she says, sarcastically. "Of course she loves you!"

Nothing can express how happy I am right now. My face is too small for my smile.

"Wait, since when does Warren have a pig?"
