Phil's POV

Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!

I slam my hand on the snooze button and groan.

I effortlessly crawl out of bed and walk downstairs.

Mum is already up and talking to someone in the kitchen. "Oh! Phil, you scared me," she almost shouts when I enter. She looks panicked and is acting really suspicious.

"Okay then..." I hear shuffling behind her. "What's that behind you?"

Her cheeks go red. "What's what? Aren't you supposed to be getting ready for school?"

"I need to have breakfast. Seriously, what's behind you?" She looks at the floor. Suddenly, Y/N's head pops out from behind her. I grin. "What are you doing here?"

Pink tints her cheeks. "Nothing you should know. It's, um... lady problems."

For a moment, I'm confused but then realise what she means. "Oh, okay then. I'll get breakfast later. You two carry on." They stare at me as I leave the room.

That's not odd at all...

Your POV

"Phew, that was close." Mrs Lester nods and we get back to work.

"So, have you got him a birthday present yet?" She asks me. I shake my head.

"I'm going to get it when we go shopping for the decorations." She nods and I continue planning while Mrs Lester prepares a bowl of cereal for Phil.

Just as I finish, Phil walks down the stairs and sits across from me. He picks up his spoon and shoves the cereal in his mouth.

"Well," he starts with a mouth full of milk and cereal. "Looks like I got to see you after all." I smile and look down.

"I had to see my lion at least once today." He swallows the food in his mouth and smiles.

"Phil! Hurry, you're going to miss the bus!" His mum walks in and ushers him out the door.

"Bye, Philly!"

"Bye, Y/N/N!" I hear the door shut and sigh. I wish that we could spend more time together.

~Time skip~

I walk through the shopping centre choosing balloons for Phil's birthday tomorrow. I pick out blue, green and purple balloons and then move on to streamers.

I grab a few more decorations and then meet up with Mrs Lester at the counter to pay. Once finished in that shop, we go our separate ways to buy a birthday present.

I walk through the aisles looking for a few things Phil would like.

In the end I have 'Lord of the Rings', a robot and a small plant. I start to make my way to the counter when I spot something. I turn and stand in front of a small pile of soft toys. Sitting right on top is a lion. I grab it and walk to the counter.

Once I've paid for Phil's presents, I meet back up with Mrs Lester and go get lunch.

We talk for a while and then get up to leave. As we walk out, arms full of bags, I catch a glimpse of a boy with wavy blonde hair staring at us.

Jake. I shoot the boy a dark look and continue my way out of the the shopping centre.

~Time skip~

I sit on my bed and go through final plans for Phil's birthday tomorrow. Once done, I decide to have a quick shower and get to bed.

I grab all my necessities and walk into the bathroom. Before I hop in, I check my reflection. The bruises have faded a lot during these few days, they're almost completely gone.

I think I can go to school tomorrow.

~Time skip cuz showers are boring~

I plonk onto my bed causing my dripping hair to stick all over my face. I sweep it out of the way and pick up my phone.

New message: Philly <3

Growing excited, I quickly open my text messages and read it.

Philly <3- I wish I could have talked to you longer. See you tomorrow xx

I grin at the message and quickly type back.

Y/N- Can't wait xxx

I switch off my phone and snuggle under my blankets, only to remember the light is still on.

Really? I just got comfortable!

"Mum?" Almost as soon as I call, she's at my door.

"Yes? What is it?"

"I have a really serious condition, it's kind of a problem. It's called laziness. Can you turn my light off?"

She sighs. "Yes, your majesty. Do you need me to tuck you in and tell you a bedtime story, too?"

I laugh. "That sounds good to me."

She rolls her eyes. "Goodnight, Y/N." She turns the light off and walks out.

"Goodnight, mum."

And with that, I shut my eyes and go to sleep.
