Phil's POV

"Let's go to the cinema tomorrow," I look over at Y/N, who sits at the piano to practice a new song, with a hopeful smile. She stops practicing and turns to face me.

"What would you like to watch?"

I shrug. "Whatever you'd like to watch."

She sits there, thinking for a bit. "How about Old School?"

"Y/N, my parents wouldn't let me watch that."

"Who says they have to know?" She grins.

"I can't lie to my parents!"

"I do it all the time."

"Then what do I tell them?" I ask, needing answers.

"All you need to say is that you're going to the movies, you'll choose what to watch when you get there and if they ask what you watch when we get back all you need to say is what you watched and how it was not what you expected it to be and never watch it again. Unless your parents are completely fine with you watching it now. That way you're lying while still telling the truth. It works all the time with me. And, if they're still unhappy with it, tell them it was all me," she replies like she does it all the time, which she probably does.

"I can't blame you. I'd rather take the blame."

"And I'd rather have my best friend over every afternoon. And have you come camping."

I give her a confused look. "But wouldn't you be in trouble off your parents? Or mine?"

The grin on her face grows bigger. "I have a gift of flattery, Sir Lester. I should be fine." I open my mouth to argue but she raises her hand. "Don't worry about it, Phil. You've known me pretty much your whole life! Have some faith." I nod.

"Okay then. Can you play me a song?" I plead. She smiles warmly and turns around.

"Sure. Any requests?"

"Well, I know you play it a lot but, Can You Feel the Love Tonight?"

"As you wish," she softly replies and begins to play as I sit on her bed, feeling hopelessly in love with this talented girl.

~The next day~

"Mum? Dad? Is it okay if I go see a movie with Y/N today?" I shout from the living room to my parents, who are currently occupying the kitchen.

"Of course you can! Any ideas of what you want to watch?" My mum shouts back.

I gulp. Remember what Y/N told you. "No, not yet. I think we might decide when we get there. Have you got any suggestions?" I stand and make my way into the kitchen so I can have a proper conversation with my parents.

"Well, I think Old School looks okay and funny," my mum replies.

I stand by the counter, shocked. "Mum, are you being serious? It's not exactly a kids movie."

"And you're not exactly a kid, are you? And don't think I didn't know you were wanting to watch it already. I was a teenager once upon a time, too," Dad chuckles.

"So you're completely fine with it?" I ask, still unsure.

"Yes! As long as Y/N's parents are okay with you taking her to see it," Mum almost shouts, honestly sounding excited.

"Thanks."

"No problem. Now go upstairs and get ready, unless you want to go on a date in your pyjamas." I stare at Mum, reading her expression and trying to see if she's being serious. She just winks at me and points in the direction of the stairs.
