Jayden. With Confidence.

Chapter 26

Mavis's Point of view
The moment I held Jayden in my arms and watched him sob was possibly the most heartbreaking moment of my life. He knew I was holding him but still continue to cry. Everyone else had left the room because either they wanted to give us some space, or in Josh's case, couldn't stand to see their best friend in this condition.
"Jayden please stop." I say as he rocks back and forth. "Please. I'm here now and I'm not going anywhere. I know you didn't mean to kiss Kayla and what Sam said doesn't matter. I love you and only you no matter what. Just please stop crying."
Jayden wipes the tears from his eyes continuously as they continue to fall again and again. "I seriously thought I was going to lose you. I don't think I could live with myself if I did." he whispers. I hold him even closer as he says those words.
"You would only be able to lose me if the world ended and that ain't happening any time soon." I say. Jayden  forces a quick smile on to his face but I can see he's still a little shaken.
"I love you so much baby." He says. "You know I would never do anything to intentionally hurt you."
I nod, "I know baby." I quickly stand up before helping Jayden up.
"It's been a tough few months hasn't it?" I pull Jayden closer.
"Yeah." He sighs weakly.
"Well everything is going to be okay from now on. You have me, and such a bright future ahead of you. Who needs Sam? So many bands have made it as a three-piece, and if that doesn't work out it won't be hard to find a replacement." I smile, hoping it will make him smile.
"Yeah." Jayden wipes his eyes a final time.
"AND GUESS WHAT!" I say, excitement filling my voice.
"What?" Jayden giggles at my excitement.
"ONLY TWELVE DAYS UNTIL FORMAL!"
A real smile appears on Jayden's face. "Yay! I'm so happy I'm going with you. I wouldn't want to go with anyone else."
I put my arms around him and kiss him passionately.
Then, Celeste walks into the room, unaware of what has just happened. "Aw, get a room you two." She says, before retreating to the lounge room to see Josh.
"How does it feel to finally be 18?" Jayden asks as we finally sit down for breakfast. Josh had put breakfast on hiatus. "Pretty good. But it feels very much the same." He says. Celeste  whispers something in his ear which causes him to turn the lights shade of pink and he starts practically sucking her face off.
"Aw, get a room you two." Jayden says, referencing what Celeste had said only minutes before. She pulls away from Josh and shoots Jayden a dagger. Jayden sasses her back and a pillow fight breaks out. Suddenly I feel really tired again since I spent the majority of my night unable to sleep and crying.

"I'm actually really tired, so I think I'm going to go get a room for an hour also." I say. I get up but Jayden is still holding my hand. "Wanna come with?"
Jayden nods and leads me to the room where he had slept the night before.

"All I want right now is to be close to you." I whisper.
Jayden smirks, "Get as close as you want because I'm not going anywhere."
