I took off, Ethan right on my heels, but I was in front of him by a couple of inches. When we got to the stream I hurled myself over and landed three second before Ethan. I took this as my chance to win the race. I willed all my strength into my legs as I practically flew over the ground, not leaving a single drop of sound.

Ethan's POV

I knew she was going to win, I just wanted to see her, barely infront of me. I stared at Mikeala as she ran, her golden hair flying back in the wind. She was beautiful. Full of strength and compassion. How could anyone not love her? I smiled as she leapt over the brook, leaving me in her dust. I jumped over the water and chased after her. Once we made it to the car she was five feet in front of me. She slammed her hand down on the hood of the car and turned to stare at me as I walked slowly out of the forest. I held in a laugh as she did a little victory dance, sticking her tongue out at me. I ran to her in a flash and wrapped my arms around her waist.

"You only won because I let you." I whispered in her ear.

Mikeala's POV

Wait, what did he just say? I thought, the grin fading off my face.

"You let me win?" I whipped out of his arms and faced him. He laughed and kissed my lips.

"Maybe." he replied before walking to the driver side door and getting in. I stared at the car before finally getting in and slamming the door behind me.
