Ethan's eyes softened as the words "I love you" escaped my lips. I wiped off a tear that fell down my cheek and stared at the floor.

"Mikeala." Ethan said, coming to the be and kneeling on his knees in front of me. "I am so sorry. I love you too, which is why I can't. I can't take away your soul."

Suddenly my bedroom door flung open as Ashley ran in the room.

"Crap!" I muttered. "I didn't even hear you guys pull up. " I said to ash.

"We just got home. Dad got pizza. Hey Ethan. Figured you would be here. Watcha doing? Proposing?"

"Ash!" I groaned. My family knew about Ethan now. It has been four months since I returned and my sister adored him. Ethan laughed and stood up, grabbing my hand and pulling me to my feet.

"Not without the sisters consent." Ethan said jokingly.

"Haha." ash said. "Come down and eat when your ready. No sex!" Ashley said.

"Ashley!!" I gasped. She ran out of the room as I chunked a pillow at her head. I stared at Ethan before going to him and wrapping my arms around his waist.

"I love you." I murmured.

"I love you too, which is why you are staying human." I sighed but smiled.

"For now." Ethan laughed but took my hand and led me downstairs where the smell of pizza wafted in the kitchen.

"Hello, Ethan." mom said as we came into the living room, pizza on our plates.

"Hello." he replied. I sat down on the couch and patted the spot next to me. Ethan sat and I took a huge bite out of my pizza.

I awoke to uneasiness. I got out of bed and looked out my window. The moon shone brightly inthe star dusted night. I grabbed a jacket and my phone and slipped on my boots before heading downstairs. I grabbed a flashlight and went out the back door to the woods. Without thinking I walked straight into the forest and kept walking.

"Hello?" I called out. No answer. Why am I even out here? I asked myself. Suddenly I heard footsteps behind me. I spun around but nothing was there. I suddenly felt the urge to run. I spun on my heels and took off into the night. My heart thudded loudly in my ears as I ran, mindlessly turning and swirling through the underbrush.
